Ivyleaf asked about my blood test results. Bit of a sore point really. Had letter from surgery telling me to go in to get results from practice nurse, so OH called and made appt. Turns out she can ONLY talk about cholesterol, and we should have made doc appt for Vit D and all the other results. But can't get to see doc I need to as he's booked up for weeks. <rolls eyes> So nurse suggested I see the locum I saw last time, who said I should go and see someone who knew me and had seen me before. If I can't see "my doc" I'd rather see a lady doc, but they don't do as many sessions. So Gawd alone knows when I'll find out what rest of test results are, prob be lucky to get them before Xmas!

I hate Doctor appointment booking systems with a passion, ours uses the first to ring up gets to go method, naturally its engaged so you have to redial 50 times at 8am to get through. Count me as in favour of paying a small charge and online booking, It is one of the reasons i dont go as much as i really should.

I wish we could go back to the time when the NP thread didn't involve politics or complaining about someone's hours of work. I may have to stop lurking.

I accept this ticking off as fair.

But do think you should join in to keep us on the straight and narrow. Or broad but inoffensive :D

Cholesterol up again, but can't be bothered with the ghastly diet and won't take statins, so if I drop dead I drop dead, at least I wouldn't have to find the rest of papers for my tax accountant! :rotfl: I have serious problems eating anyway, so any kind of diet is difficult/impossible. Poor OH tries very hard to cook wonderful meals, but it's very hit and miss. Sometimes I just find I'm not able to eat whatever it is after a couple of mouthfuls. Very frustrating for OH.

Still not managed to find a home for one of our things we put on Freegle, but the guy who came and took book case yesterday evening took a storage unit I'd meant to list but hadn't got round to yet, so that's good. So still have a pine Ikea desk to dispose of, if I don't hear from 3rd person (!) I've contacted tonight I think I'll just re-list it. Lady who picked up other Ikea desk was pleased with it, and even came prepared with an Ikea allen key - now that's organisation for you! :rotfl: It wasn't needed in the end, plus we've got plenty of them, but it struck me as a really good idea.

DH had a health check at the gym last week. The nurse doing it first of all asked his age and wrote a two assuming he was twenty something. This pleased fir very much.

His results were sickeningly good and all his action points were things like 'continue my lifestyle in the area'.

A favourite saying here is 'the chair is the killer'. Sadly circumstances mean I have developed Stockholm syndrome for my chair. :D.

Its one of my reasons too. I'm meant to have booked a blood test to see how much worse my liver and kidneys have got since they decided to start to fail. ( pretty sure medication related). I will do it this month.

A look at freecycle to see what's been newly listed today. I belong to 7 groups within a 30-40 mile radius.

Today: a pile of bricks; 5 baskets for flower arranging; a wooden curtain pole; toddler aprons; learning land CDs; an office desk.

What's the diametre and length of the curtain pole? I'm always on look out for super chunky ones.

It's in Wimborne. All it says is: "OFFERED Light wood 2m long curtain pole with wooden wall fittings."

They don't give much detail on the listings and no photos.

I think they'd say if it was a super thicky. Some people lurve to boast about about diametre.

Hello. I came back because PN claimed someone had bought TEN mugs from my site. That is like eight more than ever. So I dug out my MSE password and have been reading this thread wondering if it was a joke.

By the time I got to Hamish and celery I was beginning to feel sad. Then...

FC123 you are a generous star! I hope they turn up and are OK. They often provide them upside down or with missing handles - but you can always use them as a conversation starter for a convivial evening.

And 33% off too! You always were the shrewd one on here.

I can do signed original but it takes a little organising. Start with a PM and we go from there.

As for PN - what a great friend she has been over the years.

Usual apologies for not coming by but here is ten minutes of my internet time gone and there is a lot to do when you are trying to make fifty cents a day.

Cheers....it sounds a bit extravagant but not really as I have a several acquaintances who we get a small gift (within the cup budget) and it's always a struggle to find something useful (ish), fun, unique da da da that will also prompt a smile when opened.

I liked the simplicity of the artwork and the apt one liners.

I have pages and pages to wade through and I only missed the weekend, so will catch up tonight.
