Tonight we had chip butties for dinner. chips from a good chippy, salt&vinegar and a carton of curry sauce between the two of us.
it was delicious and fulfilled a wish.0 -

Nice
I tried a chip butty once, but didn't like the taste when the chip fat mingled with the spread (probably stork marg), that was over 30 years ago and not tried one since.
But chips/curry sauce is nice

fulfilled a wish.
Must be a night for it.
I fulfilled my wish (edit - well one of them!)... and bought a balloon
I fell in love whilst I was on holiday. In the supermarket round the corner from my bro's flat, they had balloons at the checkouts. And there was a bat balloon. I loved the bat balloon.
I nearly went and bought it to bring home, then I figured it would probably go pop on the plane (so not such a great idea...), or I'd have to deflate it (and be carrying a deflated balloon when I went straight abroad for work).
But I saw they might be stocked somewhere nearby :j
Talking about balloons - I hope NDG, Kermie et al. are well.

Hi Loanranger. Hope all is well. How's Tonto?
Bit cloudy here today. Never mind, it's Melbourne Cup day (a horse race) so we have a half day :j:beer:

Pink whistley and mauve squeaker have been enjoying cat videos on you tube.
Hopefully that means it will work for me tonight.
I think I might buy gym clothes for firs owl ( Christmas stocking in our jargon) this year. Not sure what though. I know he likes to keep it light. I was thinking maybe bamboo stuff. Anyone here wear bamboo? He prefers natural fibres you see....0 -

I think it's a material - kind of an alternative to cotton?0 -

Bit of a sore point really. Had letter from surgery telling me to go in to get results from practice nurse, so OH called and made appt. Turns out she can ONLY talk about cholesterol, and we should have made doc appt for Vit D and all the other results. (why couldn't they have said that in the letter they sent?) But can't get to see doc I need to as he's booked up for weeks. <rolls eyes> So nurse suggested I see the locum I saw last time, who said I should go and see someone who knew me and had seen me before. If I can't see "my doc" I'd rather see a lady doc, but they don't do as many sessions. So Gawd alone knows when I'll find out what rest of test results are, prob be lucky to get them before Xmas!
How frustrating  Same sort of thing happens at our surgery. And most of the docs there now are part-time so if you want to see a particular one you usually have to wait about 3 weeks, unless you strike lucky and happen to ring them just when they've released some more appointments for the next day.
Oddly enough, I've always had a much shorter wait when I've needed a double appointment. May be worth trying?0 -
Day started off badly but I think I've salvaged it. Got a bit of room tidying done. My system is that I put on a piano sonata (or similar length piece of music) on youtube and then tidy through that, so it's about half an hour ish. Seems to work! Today was Beethoven's Pathetique
Applied for some jobs, posted some stuff from ebay, booked my graduation place (not sure I've passed yet!), and messaged F about a second meeting. So actually quite productive for me“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0
