We can't talk in absolute terms because I may be wrong (I assume I am) about how it works out for you and you're definitely wrong about how it works out for me. Maybe we deal with different companies that are more responsive in different ways, who knows, but both of us are merely giving anecdotes which by their nature are both completely true accounts from our respective perspectives. If you've had bad experiences in not having warranties and have found it comparatively cheaper and stress free with them then fine I can't and won't dispute that, but conversely you can't dispute that I've had less stress and expense without them compared to when I did. Horses for courses, but please don't use that logic fallacy again that this somehow comes to mean that I have a solicitor on speed dial for every single incident. I don't have a solicitor and I've never personally needed to ever go to small claims court (although I've seen the entire process twice with my parents and am not in the least put off by the prospect), simply having enough knowledge has been enough for me to resolve any problems I've had.
You go for it m8.
For the rest of us who just want the thing fixed as quickly as possible, spend the 8p per day.0 -
Im beginning to wish I had never asked for advice now. This has turned into more of an argument. Youve all hijacked my thread :money:
You're question was answered back at the start?
Hardly hijacking, since your query was already answered and we're all in agreement on that its not transferable. Even Dell have answered that for you on this post.
We're merely 'debating' the pros and cons of an extended warranty. Which punches in a friday morning, until something more interesting happens.0 -
gees just trying to lighten the atmosphere and hint STOP ARGUING. Agree to disagree.
Dell HAVE now transferred the warranty this morning so concerns me that some1 from dell have told me its non transferable.
Now leaving this thread alone as its got out of hand and I know your just desperate to get the last word in.
Yes it has been hijacked as youve taken over with your pathetic arguments.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

Does someone need a hug? :grouphug:
Mate, its a forum, people have opinions, people debate them. Posts tend to meander off somewhere else and evolve, particularly when people have given their opinions - albeit wrongly in this case (including by Dell). Dont take it personal - its what happens on forums!
Its not for real, we dont really hate each other.
Relax, unwind, chill out.0 -

You obviously didn't even read the posts. May I quote my previous post on this thread "...just agree to disagree", and the whole point of my previous posts wasn't arguing but that I merely had a different opinion to pgilc because we'd obviously had different experiences. I suggest you re read the thread and see what has actually been posted.
Also the thread has not been hijacked because it was never taken off topic with a different question by either pgilc or myself and noone else either as far as I can see. Just because a thread goes beyond an original question being answered does not mean it's been hijacked. pgilc and I have had a discussion arising from differing opinion on the subject that was brought in the original post. We still disagree but at least took in (I presume) each others opinions and we'll both move on. Quite ironic that the OP is the only one to get bent out of shape by this.

An answer for everything. You both turn on me and stick up for each other. I have re-read the posts and it does look as though youve been going at each other.
Anyway, better things to do so will leave it at that.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

I have no interest in "sticking up" for pgilc. Can't even remember if our paths have ever crossed in posting before. Could you give a single example of where I "had a go" at pgilc? I merely disagreed with the opinions and stated my own with reasons why. That's what a discussion is! I never made any kind of personal attack and I kept it within the topic of extended warranties and I finished my posts with agreeing to disagree. You're kind of making out this was some kind of flame war or something but no personal insults were exchanged and it was kept within the topic of the thread, I'm not sure what the actual problem is.
If you truly believe anyone (including me) on your thread has broken the forum rules in any way then feel free to report those posts, let the mods decide. But this really does not constitute either an argument in the context you put across or a thread hijacking. As for having an "answer for everything" I suppose it fits into the logic of your previous posts that if I disagree what was said especially if it involves me as a poster then I'm for some reason not allowed to respond!"She is quite the oddball. have u ever tried telling dell ur consumer rights!? i have over a battery what a load of hassle. im so glad ive got extended warrantny ive used it loads of times, twice being times when my daughter has knocked it off the table. i managed to pass it off as harddrive failure.
And you're proud of your successful deception? Well done. I think it stinks.:rolleyes:0 -
Oh I should have knew you were the poster when I got an email notification. I do not wish to discuss this as I can see your 1 of those ppl that has to have the last word and always be right.
As for my post in the arms NO it wasnt about you. Get over yourself and stop going on.
