MSE EE broadband deal : We want your feedback

  • In a nutshell - this product is terrible (slow, unusable speeds way below those promised) , and the service is also poor (slow, bad communication, being charged for things by mistake)

In my opinion, MSE , by attaching their name to this deal, tarnishes my opinion on this site - I trusted (or DID trust) MSE to put consumers first, but this deal just smacks of a win for Martin, and probably a bad experience for anyone who takes it up.

I paid upfront, have no vouchers yet. But am not bothered about that at all - instead I am furious at how slow and poor this service is - constant dropouts, 3mb/s- maybe 5 if you are lucky. Like using the internet 10 years ago. This morning I waited 7 minutes for the BBC homepage to fully load.

Im going to cut my losses and switch provider - but thanks for losing me over £200 MSE.

Absolute nightmare since ordering EE home broadband on 22nd of December DKI7145162

Ive spent hours and hours on the phone trying to find out what is happening must be over 4 hours in total with about 20 mins actually talking to someone out of all that time.

(Currently been on hold for 1 hour and 30 mins and counting just on tonights phone call)

I have rang to confirm that my broadband will be activated Friday 6th as promised as every step of the way so far something has gone wrong and i have to ring up and chase up my order .

EE never tell me anything and i have to keep ringing them to ask and even then i dont always seem to be told. I have so far had trouble with my order twice and i was last promised last friday when my phone line was finally installed and the phone line is now active that due to another error on my order the earliest my broadband can be activated is Friday 6th Feb i have no idea why the delay but i hope it will happen but based on my minimal experience with EE I have almost zero faith so it looks like ill be looking elsewhere.

    Update
Turned out it took over 2 hours on phone but seems they was trying to set up my broadband on my old landline number when my landline was setup with a new number. Given i very rarely use my landline keeping my number was of little to no importance to me.

EE said will give me 3 months free broadband for the inconvenience and hopefully it will now be successfully activated in 5-7 working days as i have now been promised or preferably earlier.

Slightly more confident now as this member of staff seems to have found the cause to the problem and to have resolved to fix it as opposed to all the previous calls i made where presumably they kept re ordering on the wrong phone number.

Jade if you could look into this for me please to ensure i am not further disappointed in a weeks time i would appreciate it as i really cannot be bothered to make another 2 hour phone call to customer services plus i will be struggling for internet access until it is up and running.

Please do not make the mistake I have made I switched last Friday 14/11/14 they disconnected my service with sky but have still to connect me. They are the most incompetent company I have ever come across. They put you on hold put the phone down promise to call back. I am typing this while on hold yet again. They have just said technical department is closed. I am high priority for tomorrow I was today but they did not call. I cannot believe this deal is promoted by money saving expert I have reported them to Ofcom because I cannot just switch to another company until my broadband is live with EE. Yet because my phone line is live the clock is ticking on the 14 day cancellation. I have just paid £50 for mi-fi because I work from home. If anyone has any ideas to get me out of this mess I would appreciate it. EE should be banned from home broadband trust me I would not wish this on my worst enemy!! update 20/11/14 I have been into EE shop they put me through to the high priority team they say I am being connected by 9 pm tomorrow night!! This company is a Joke.
After 3 weeks trying to get connected with EE I went with BT EE gave me the £120 amazon vouchers as a goodwill so it ended well with £5 BB unlimited BT another mse deal 12 months with £50 vouchers.
  • Hi David,

I set up home phone & broadband contract with EE via Topcashback site on 18/07/14. The deal advertised a cash back of £136.50 of which I am still chasing. I gave the initial EE reference number to TCB in order to chase up my claim and have now tried three times asking for my cashback. The latest reply from TCB said that EE won't honour the claim because they can't trace it (yet they issued me the reference No.). I wondered if anyone else has had the same problem with them?
This has caused me so much hassle and in future I will disregard any advertised cashback from EE/TCB because I believe they have got me to sign the contract under false pretences.

Your help with this would be very much appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Hi all,

In our broadband guide EE is in our top picks.

We're after feedback from people who have applied this offer and want to know your experience and if you had any trouble getting the broadband.

Thanks for all help in advance

This is my very first response to your request for feedback.

I changed from a BT basic broadband to EE broadband and have to tell you that my wife and I are really happy we did this. Firstly the line rental paid a year in advance was over £50 cheaper. Secondly,
for BT i was paying £5.00 per month compared to £2.50 with EE.

Lastly, I was being charged extra with BT every time I exceeded the 10mbs allowed, and yet with EE I have unlimited broadband. Where I live we are unable to receive Fibre broadband, but the speed is every bit as quick as BT. Also, I have been able to get
through to EE for queries about my bill much much quicker than I could to BT.

Now that BT have bought out EE I just hope the old days don't come back to haunt us.

The ONLY disappointment is this. We were seduced to change to
EE. via the Quidco page which claimed that if we signed up on line
before 16/12/14 we would receive £135 cashback. We straightway did this on 14/12/14 giving our bank details to EE to clinch the deal. But now QUIDCO say * did not make a purchase with them ! (very very suspicious don't you think?

I am looking for a BB and phone provider ATM and I have contacted EE recently about their offers and package details. With all the hassle that people appear to be having with the cashback it makes me think the cashback is all to get people on to a contract with nothing to show for it. Am I correct or has anyone actually received any cashback?

I am out of contract ATM with my current provider and want to find the best deal that I can. I am quite prepared to move to another provider as my current one has a few issues with the service which I am not happy with. I will go with the best deal available for me.

Can anyone provide any information on whether these cashbacks are legitimate or not and do they pay out?
