seller refusing paypal?
Comments

I understand the sellers position although they should not be using ebay for selling such custom made items if they are not willing to accept paypal.
I would put a complaint in to ebay that the seller refuses to accept paypal0 -
Aren't bespoke items excluded from Paypal protection? See items not covered in the left hand column
https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security
From that it looks as if even if the seller would accept Paypal there would be no protection.0 -
Anyone get the feeling theres a bit of pig-tail pulling going on0

Buyers still have full protection for a SNAD claim or INR - they would only lose their change of mind protection . Exactly the same as any payment method being used for custom made items.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm afraid that paypal/ebay have instilled a sense of entitlement in to their users, a sort of, it's my human rights, ain't it.
Well, unfortunately it isn't. The item belongs to the seller and your cash belongs to you. The day that ebay start to treat both customers fairly (buyer AND seller), will be the day it starts to work again.
It's only a few years ago that that if you saw something in house & leisure/country/whatever you'd phone/fill in the order form pay by cheque after allowing it to clear/credit card etc and happily wait for it to arrive.
Perhaps the seller has a merchant account and is happy to accept a card payment, perhaps he has a website where you can pay securely online..
The sad fact is that ebay/paypal have managed to install a climate of suspicion where neither buyer or seller is 100% happily confident with their transactions.0 -

They don't have any other way of accepting payment. First they said they weren't happy if the payment came via credit card due to a charge back so I said if transfer cash into paypal. Then they said no paypal only bank transfer it cheque. I Don't know this person they live a long way from me and I would have no comeback if they pocketed my cash and sent me nothing or the wrong thing completely.
They don't trust me not to raise a case with paypal. I thought I was being very reasonable but everybody is just attacking me and I don't understand why.0 -

Nobody is attacking you, I think we are just concerned that despite being given all the advice you need you still haven't quite grasped it. Only you can decide what to do, asking again doesn't mean the answers will be different.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Equally, the seller doesn't know you and lives a long way from you, and if they accepted the Paypal payment and you then raised a SNAD , they too would have 'no comeback' as you put it.
Those are the facts. Accept their terms and get these particular curtains, or go and buy some other curtains elsewhere. It's that simple.0 -

I am sorry but the only fact is that they are required to accept paypal if they sell on ebay. Anything else from the seller is preference and the buyer should complain to ebay and leave negative feedback0
