The Sussex hens we purchased last autumn were remedial cases and seemed not to have the usual hen instincts. They wouldn't even perch. It was months before they learned and we could stop lifting them up every evening. :undecided

Just got ourselves one of these for £50 in Lidl:2_3588_Potatore-ricaricabile_777.jpg

Considering it comes with a 3amp/hr battery + charger it surely can't be much good, but I'll give it a go. Still using the Aldi long reach hedge trimmer, and that's at least 4 years old. :)

Well its a year since my lovely DD2 went to New Zealand. Hope the next one goes as fast and I may get to see her then.

Nothing much happening here. Still waiting to get the boiler installed in Skye, sigh.

DS2 graduates from his 3 year apprenticeship and will be a JCB engineer.

Other than that life is pretty sedate. DD1 got her finger stood on by a cow but seems to be ok

Good covering of grass on there! It's persisting it down! Did manage to get the grass cut last night, which was lucky considering the forecast.

Lots more rain heading our way now that the family are heading here for holidays. Think there might be some interesting caravan nights looking at the winds....

Not stopped all day. The only interesting thing was if it changed direction and how big the drops were.

Went to do the shopping and went twice round the store because it was raining so hard.

    :wave:Heloo o o o! Anyone out there?

After all the talk of thunder and flash-flood Armageddon, we had a wet, windy night and a very blustery day here, so I'm well-relieved, but was it the same for everyone?

This afternoon we walked a couple of miles around one of the larger nature reserves without so much as a single raindrop falling on us.

It's been wet here and over on the East with some shops & the hospital flooded in Inverness. Like Autumn here with low cloud & much cooler & quite windy. I'm pleased that it's cooler & less midgied & flies about. Had to round sheep up & look at some of their eyes as they rub their faces with the midgies being so bad even though they have on repellent. I've got 4 who I had to put antiseptic cream in their eyes. And that was tricky.

OH is coughing continuously with a heavy cold bug - I don't want it but it seems inevitable.

Sorry to hear that. Loads of 'furreners' from darn sarth bringing their weird bugs up your way at this time of year, of course.

Everywhere you go people seem to have it - thick it is.

    I will succumb no doubt.
