Sounds very stressful CTC. It's hard at times and you have to take care of yourself.

We are just treading water at the mo. Health issues been a big thing in curtailing us but we plod on. Just having to cut back the animals as it's too much and sheep are not making money here at all - never did small scale rare breeds but I do like having them so that is a wrench.

The NC500 has turned the place into a racetrack so that is not great for a stress free existence when you have sports cars etc doing mental speeds on the wrong side of the road or massive camper vans doing 18 mph & travelling in convoys & weaving around all over the place.Don't get me started...................

Choille sounds like you Re going through crap too.

Over the last few months I have wanted just to sell up, to the point I am just sitting in the kitchen crying..

I need to get my old self back, where I would give a flying xxxx .
Plus we cant afford to move lol..

    Anyway.. planning forward..

I have learnt alot so far this year about selling plants, what sells, and most importantly, when it comes to bedding plants etc. Its all or nothing lol.

I am starting to take cuttings now ready for next year.
I am also looking out for sedums and saxifragas you dont see in the main garden centres..

Glad that you've had a good season with the plants.
Yes, it's all about planning....and research, like what isn't in the garden centres. We have odd things that sell steadily because people don't see them for sale elsewhere. We also have easy to bulk-up things they can buy at other places, but they're half the price. :D

Not that there are many 'other places' around us now. The garden centre went, and now the owners of the only other nursery had a tiff, so it's disappeared. :(

.....and we're supposed to be closing too! :rotfl:

As the pigs are still going well, you've done excellently. It's not everyone can make those work nowadays. Just keep plugging away and it'll all come right. :A

Good with the plants CTC. Sedums are lovely. There is a small garden near here that sells plants that are Highland hardy & most are not your usual stuff.

If there is anything I can help with let me know.

Dull again today & overcast with showers. Been bitten by a cleg that has flared up - as they do.

Must deal with some niggling paperwork stuff that gets hidden under a pile of more paperwork stuff.

Dull again - we have had a very wet Summer so far even for us.

The garden is running wild as have hardly done anything but the shrubs were pruned & they seem to be looking good but crowding into each other.
Loads of birds and butterflies and bees so that is a good sign.

Cannot believe how well the trees have come on totally creating a shelter & hidden from the road - blocking the view in places though. Could do with getting the chainsaw out in places but will wait until Autumn.

So different, our experiences at each end of the country. We had some useful rain on Friday and into Saturday, but no prospect of any more for a while. At least it's been dull, which has helped the plants in pots....and us! Still rather a lot in the nursery, and this is only the part in full sun:

You can just about make out the tomatoes inside the poly, which are producing at last. :D

Not so many butterflies for us so far and a dearth of other insects too, compared with last year, but the birds are prolific, swallows excepted.

Heavy week coming up: plumber, home insurance, van MoT, van tax, car tax, a large credit card bill and something sad.:(

Greenbee, your seeds will be on their way soon. :)
