what a day..
the weather is slowly getting worse, and I think we are on a yellow alert for wind and rain..
just cant get warm, doesn't help that my main boots I wear, ( good walking boots) have decided to leak lol, but I have worn them for quite a few years now, day in, day out, and around the muddy pig runs lol... did have a pair come in, but they are a size too small, something will come into work in the next few days...
I don't feel christmasy at all this year...even with all the Christmas films on channel 5 at the weekends lol
choille even though I would like to see the weather you are having like LIR, I would prob poop my pants as I don't like thunder lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
I do love thunderstorms, but when they happen throughout the night it means you don't sleep.
It's been a vicious day weather wise.
I had a choking sheep ,but she's okay. I have had this a few times when they've gobbled on their beet pellets - I went & got a rubber tube as I thought I was gonna have to stick it down her throat.
I had to go & post - we have an outreach service two afternoons a week for one & a half hours - wow, are we civilised or what? The woman who is serving/dealing with the post is from Edinburgh & she just laughed when I went in half drowned, mud up to my armpits.
Stove on & it's good to in & cosy - still got my scarf on!0 -

I'm writing this in my new office, which has a door now, but no heating, as Mr Plumber disconnected all the radiators at this end of the house today. As a result, the rest of the wood burner-powered heating is now working better, though none of it works well.

The corridor isn't being widened. DW found a similar one in MiL's house, so it must be OK!
:rotfl:
I was without broadband/phone for most of today. The wires I trailed through 2 lofts yesterday were only good for phones.:( So, it was a case of moving the immovable....i.e. a BT master socket. Lots of dire warnings on the interweb, but I haven't a clue why, because it took all of 10 minutes.

It's horrid - the hail has started again. I was just out at the shed & it's flashing lightening - real forked stuff & then we get massive hail stone showers & the wind picks up.
We got the plaster board finished on the ceiling today & some more of the wall done!
Stew came late today as he didn't sleep much last night coz of the thunder. I wonder if he'll get here tommora as it's a bit bleak out there.
I'm gonna unplug as we are scared the lightening will take out the phone & laptop = I'm unplugging a lot!0 -

I really loved the William Morris exhibition, OH less so. It has quite a lot about those who followed in his footsteps, I liked that, but suspect it was aspects of that that OH wasn't so keen on. Watch out for a stupendous lustre vase, and close by it a couple of truly fabulous jewels! :j Hope you enjoy.
On a rather different aspect of the NPG it has a truly wonderful disabled toilet, with gorgeous red tiles, and comfortably spacious too. I find most disabled toilets it's very cramped to manoeuvre in them. Expect the normal loos are nice too, but OH didn't visit them, so can't report.
