Dentist was harassed, but couldn't say if it was an abcess or not so he had a prod & poke. Feels worse....adjusted my bridge thing & said lets wait & see.

Horrid journey home. Terrible gusts & massive lightening strikes & huge hailstones. Yeruk....

No, he won't do that. I kinda agree as there are too many anti-biotics used, but it will be a bit unhandy if it does flare up....it's 35 mls to see dentist when he's over in this area - 105 miles to where he normally practices. I had to go once to get a tooth out - long journey - over 200miles there & back feeling ruff as a dog

Toothache's one of the worst aches to have, not that any of them are nice.smiley-sick005.gif Hope it eases soon, choille. :)

Pooped now, having had 2 days of builder to myself while DW is visiting. As I'd got him some windows, I thought maybe he'd put them in, but no, he was mad keen to build this partition. Fine, but he's built it across the main loft hatch....and the plumber needs to go up there tomorrow!

It's possible to get in, cos I did it, and I'm fatter than the plumber, but why make life hard for a fellow tradesman? :wall:

Anyway I think the partition wall is wrong. It's where it should be on the plan, but plans get changed, and IMO the corridor created is too narrow. DW will agree and it will be moved. :p

I was in the loft rerouting my phone and broadband. Apparently it's not wise to mess with a BT master point, so I had to run a long cable through two lofts to the office we are creating. I stuck a bit of carpet in there today and builder says he will give me a door....luxury! :rotfl:

Goodness Dave I can see why DW has gotten out/gone visiting. The trades
often do stuff & blame the other - it's a building thing.

Sounds like there'll be plenty of fun & games & cups of tea going on in Daveville before the week is out.

Same thunder snow, grey, gale fore winds with hail & yeurk weather today. Just sat here with a hot water bottle on my lap. I haven't been out the door yet & Stew hasn't appeared, can't blame the poor fella.

  • The weather up in your part if the world sounds very scary Choille, but agree with LIR that despite that I'd love to see it :o Do stay safe x

LIR sending {{{hugs}}} to you x

Alfie, your tree looks lovely - it's feeling very un-Christmassy here atm, although we do have our (tasteful) twinkling lights around the front door, but that's all apart from our advent calendar....and DH is leaving the lights for the new owners too! Sounds as though you are very busy with Christmas trees generally, lol ;)

Dave, your building work seems to be going well - except for the narrow corridor - bet you can't wait till it's done though and don't blame Mrs Davesnave one little bit for taking a break for a bit :D

Ebay sales are fluctuating for us atm CTC, we're having bursts of really good sales, then days where virtually nothing sells, but on the whole I'd agree that things seem quieter. DH did pick up some stock last week for £20 which he sold the next day for £340 which was amazing as the guy he got it from (music memorabilia stuff) said he'd had it knocking around for years and was only too glad to take £20 for it :D

We're knee-deep in packing boxes here and have had the removers here two days already, with another (final) load due to be collected Monday. On Tuesday they took majority of our garden items up to the new house (a Luton van load) as the vendor (having already moved to his new home) was happy for us to do that and we've got insurance cover there already.

Our actual completion/moving day is 16th and what with our removers unloading over two days, garden contractors starting Wednesday (with DH labouring!) and then we are coming back down on Friday to visit the William Morris exhibition at the NPG with DS and his GF on Friday, staying with them in Brighton then visiting my mum in Portsmouth on Saturday and collecting our dogs from boarding kennels - where they're spending the week - on the way home, I think we'll be knackered come Christmas......good job we're spending it on our own for only the second time in twenty-odd years :p

I do have plans to do a bit of decorating over the hols though, so between packing we managed to find time to pop into the F&B shop in Dorset yesterday to pick up some estate emulsion in Brinjal (one of my favourite colours!)......as I have whacky plans for the *drawing room* (have to call it that as DS accused me of getting old when I referred to the *sitting room* t'other day, lol!) involving purple, orange and green ;)

Will also definitely need to find the Christmas decs boxes as DH would never forgive me if we didn't put (several ) trees up in the new house!

Can't say I'll be sorry to leave here, although I admit I'll miss the kitchen......it's funny that our buyer's consider it their dream home, yet I can't wait to get away......one man's meat and all that, I guess :o

Anyhoo, off now to do more packing - stay safe Daydreamers x
