Was perishing cold Friday night and then sort of warmer. Very windy yesterday though, really cold and cutting even if sunny most of the day.
Work a burger at the mo.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Here is the inappropriate polytunnel in the beautiful valley below here.
As it has 8 bays, it's 40'+ I reckon the width is around 16'.
That's the riverbank on the left of it. On the right side at the base, one bay from the front, is a rabbit! :rotfl:0 -
Rabbit? That thing is practically Harvey sized!0

:rotfl: And where there's one.....;)
If that skimmed-off area is a vegetable garden in preparation, they'll need a good fence!
On the one hand, I'm outraged , but on the other, I'm intrigued to see what happens next.......
(Will remove photo in a day or so.)0 -

Just got back from the recording of GQT in Glasgow...actually two since they did this Fridays programme and also one for February. That made the recording of the second set of questions a bit weird as they were referring to Xmas in the past tense.
Didn't put forward a question, which was on oversight as some that were asked were rather daft IMHO and overly focussed on veggies and allotments which don't interest me that much. A few of their suggestions drew 'harrumphs' from the audience, perhaps aware of the shorter seasons in Scotland.
Anyhow, it was Robson with Gibbs, Guinness and Flowerdew, the later looked incredibly bored by the whole thing. Robson scolded Bunny for saying 'up here' instead of 'in this part of the UK' - I'm sure they really dislike each other! She spoke very knowledgeably, it'll be interesting to see if they edit down the answers for length.
Anyhow an interesting evening.0 -
I really like Bunny Guiness's garden design. I think some find her too ' pretty' now, not 'concrete and steel' enough maybe. But I find she stays the right side of twee, mainly. Perhaps its setting dependant?
I do like flower dew though. I'm not sure I would as a person, dunno, but his books are easy and forgiving reading I think.0 -
Get your chimney swept Alfie - always safer to if it hasn't been on in a while. It does make stour though.
OH has been faffing about the boots you sent for me, but are too big & has now decided they are too heavy for him although they fit with thin socks on. I think I'll try & sell them if that's okay.
That's a big polytunnel Dave. I always think that they are more prone to ripping, but that may only be if you jab them accidently with summat sharp.
The GQT would have been interesting to hear IHS. I do like Bob Flower dew - I just like men with plaits as I have them too - usually. He does have some good thoughts on green gardening as opposed to spraying with chemicals.
Quite cold here but indoors listing & packing up some sales & other paperworky stuff. Off to pick up some kitchen stuff tomorrow & get ready for Stew coming to help on the house on Wednesday.0 -
Birds tucked in already, Looks like I'm about ready to swap grazing now. Done well this year, hoping to coop a bit better should we have very wet weather again, less time off the fields, maybe getting them back out on the 'strip' by march ( weather willing).
Might be trying something different with the strip this year too.0
