Alfie the tree looks marvellous. I have never done one coz of having nought cats.

The boots you sent arrived today & they are really gorgeous, but they are too big. OH tried them as he thought he was gonna get them on & really likes them but they are just a wee bit too short. They are real crackers & I am sad they don't fit, but I will try & sell em & then use the money to get something similar as they are absolutely gorgeous yet practical too. What are we to do with such a generous & lovely lady as yerself?
Is the original address on the box yours?
hiya.. oh poop ! they didnt fit :( but do sell em and get what you want :D no thats not my address ..... oogle it and you'll see it, where the horses are [if iv got right box ?] oh good just spotted they do fit

    Alfie I'll email you.

Selling Xmas trees? That's a new job?

Butter making Alex - that is marvellous. I've never done it but tasted someone else's & it was gorgeous.

Massive lightening storm earlier & the power went off so that curtailed some listing on the bay, but it does seem rather slow. Earlier was moving sheep inby when it started snowing & hailing massive hailstones & cracking thunder so a few skittish lambs went scuttling away down the track. Took a while to get them where they needed to be got. Got pretty soaked as wasn't thinking it would turn so nasty.

Horrid night out there - off to bed as it's been a long un

:hello:Just popping in to say I'm still here. Cut my one typing finger yesterday, so I'm verbally limited! :rotfl:

It was the Fatstock Show yesterday, so we took DD2's partner to see it. It wasn't as good as last years show - not many unusual sheep and no poultry at all. :( Seemed like the actual farming bits were generally more limited.....but I believe the organisers have changed.

One definite error was having a competition class for silage. It stank the whole covered market out! :rotfl:Mind you, us country folks didn't mind, but I dare say the food stalls nearby weren't happy.

No sign of Pete there. Most unusual.

Apart from that, I was cutting the grass.....Yes, in December!
  • morning all,

after the rain we had last night it froze over, so black ice around this morning..

Our eldest was 20 yesterday... where does the time go?? so that means we moved into house1 20 years ago on the 23rd December..

sold a few things over the weekend.. but really do need to get more things on the bay..

the fencer has had a b!tch of a job, which has rolled over by months. so he said he hopes he can get our fencing done by the first week or two in January.. or before, but as he said he needs a week off to recover...

I know its been months and months, BUT I would rather wait for him and his lads to do our fencing.. as we know he does a good job..

hope I have a good week on the bay... I really need it lol...

Yes I cut more of mine today, but I think that's it for now. We'll be moving from this calm, northerly flow and into strong westerlies for the foreseeable week or so. :( Warmer though. :)

There might be a small window of opportunity on Wednesday, but I wouldn't bank on it. :undecided

The van now has only the very old insulation in it, which I'll take to the recycling centre tomorrow, en-route to pick up 3 windows from the window co. We're going to fit those, but we're making them fit the doors in the New Year because, from experience, those always need adjustment as they bed-in.

Not much else to report. Tis all very quiet here, now the majority of farming big jobs, except maybe muck spreading, are done. :D

Even Mr Dog has been suspiciously quiet these past few weeks. I do hope he's not overdoing the pre-Christmas preparation. ;)

I don't know, but when we had those when I was a kid, my Dad would put a big sheet of metal over the fireplace opening and starve it of oxygen. I think it was his way of cleaning the chimney! :rotfl:

Since the scaffolding was still there, I tried to sweep my chimney from the top down the other day. It was scary and I thought I might drop the rods, so I wimped-out after 5 minutes and swept it the normal way. :o
