I honestly think that those , I honestly CHOKE on the words "in power" did not for one moment think the vote would go the way it did ....ooops fell off my soap box ;):D
And I think when things looked like they were going the other way, Jo Cox was used to try and turn it around.

    It almost worked too.

But these are not the usual topics for this board, :o so I'll get back in my conspiracy box! *:rotfl:

*But before I do, here's a link to Richard Hall's recently released look at the Jo Cox case. (Warning: its 3 hours long!) I don't agree with all his conclusions, but for me, there's enough there to be worrying. Could we have another Barry George scenario here, or is it all '[STRIKE] inconvenient [/STRIKE]fake news?'

Very interesting Dave. I always thought it was odd the Jo Cox case. It didn't seem quite right at all.

The Jill Dando case was like an execution. Wonder if we'll ever know the right story?

Bright & windy and showers but not as fierce as it was. It's blooming cold though.

Just chased off a pack of wild goats - herd - they do look quite menacing with their huge horns & slitty eyes. There's loads about just now.

Richard Hall's covered that, but I've not viewed it. He also did the most thorough examination of the McCann case I've seen, all on a shoe string. Few people want to fund or provide a platform for people like him

However, with events like Hillsborough and Bloody Sunday fresh in our minds again, it's legitimate to ask whether the mainstream media can be relied-upon to investigate and push the boundaries in 'inconvenient' areas. The Mc Cann case alone shows they may be a source of disinformation. If people want to see 'fake news,' go there!

Anyway, the weather is currently conspiring against any work outside here, with day-long high winds and constant rain of the fine-drizzly-stuff-in-sheets variety.:( I'm going stir-crazy, but at least all my seeds are planted! :D

Miserable day here too Dave, and I really do need to get outside and plant the poor plants that are stuck in the garage and hating it. I also need to get the bare root stuff planted (it's currently heeled in) before it wakes up properly, and finish removing the ivy from the hedge.

I was going to stick a load of willow whips in the hedge, and have always been told to do it in the spring - however, my mum has just told me that she's been listening to GQT and apparently you should do this in the autumn. I'm still going to do some now as I have HUGE gaps in the hedge (particularly low down, so will be putting short lengths in), but will try to remember to go back and do it again in the autumn.

I think I'll still be battling the ivy then too, as it is so well rooted it's going to take a long time to clear. I wondered whether weedkiller in jam jars and dropping lengths of ivy in to absorb it might work better than spraying, which risks killing other plants, as it should get into the root system.

GB. You'll be fine doing it now, in my opinion. Not least willow roots so easily. It will face more of a challenge in the hedge, but should go just fine. I do prefer to plant mine in Autumn, as the roots slowly develop over the winter on odd warm days, long before the leaves develop. Should we have another drought, then you might face difficulty.

My late plantings last year did do notably worse than the Autumn ones, but we had the Beast, followed by the drought. Even so, for willow I lost 15% at most from the February lot.

The GQT lot do like to fill the silences with words... Not always the right ones...

Grrr! We were threatened with more high winds and drizzle this morning, so I took off in the van to get some vittals and a new beanie hat, my good, insulated one having gone awol....:(

The sun came out! People in Crediton were grumbling about the wind, but it was nothing compared with what we had/were still having. On the way home, the police, fire and ambulance were attending where someone had just gone off the road and dropped into a field. It looked like a van, but I couldn't be sure. My van was behaving OK though, and it's tall, so that incident might not have wind-related.

Might get something done outside t'other side of lunch, but not counting on it now. I'm leaving the main ivy stems in the road hedge, because the ivy's good for the insects. Those are mostly between 4 and 6 cm in diameter, so my guess is that they will regenerate fast. I'll keep an eye on them....

I agree with Dafty that the willow will probably root fine unless we have a very dry spring.

Thanks both. I have an endless supply of willow, so I'm hoping I an use it to fill the gaps in the hedge. Removing the ivy (I know it's good for insects Dave, but I need the hedge to do some growing too...) is highlighting the dead and sparse bits of the hedge, so I need to focus on restoring it. And willow is free.

Weather here is miserable - I've planted a dozen hellebores so far and am about to brave the outdoors to plant some candelabra primulas. After that I have a climbing rose and 4 small shrubs to find homes for. As it's soggy at the moment and the shrubs are small I've got an outside chance of making holes big enough to fit them in.

I should watch the McCann case as that was filled with strange contradictions I thought.

Disgusting day here - really cold & wet & windy brrrrrrrrrr.
Doing little at all - just the basics.

I'd better warn you now, those videos total 8 hours, and raise more questions than answers, especially regarding unseemly rapid government involvement. Lies, spin and disinformation abound, but none of it worked on the dogs....

Got a couple of hours in this afternoon :) ....before the noise of the rain and wind drove me out of the polytunnel. :(

Heard our distant neighbour is recovering in hospital and doing OK. :beer:He described his symptoms a while ago and I told DW it sounded like classic angina. However, the quack kept giving him stuff for reflux. You do wonder sometimes what's going on in the NHS, although I've no complaints personally....other than the price of my gold tooth, that is! :D

I did watch a bit of it - yes the Government stuff was very odd indeed.

It is just the weather to watch stuff like that.
