well sadly a NO GO on the marsha front ...
lovely family , she loved the kids but scared stiff of their staffie who insisted on rugby tackling her round very corner ... I don't know how she didn't break a leg ... shame as staffie was a gorgeous boy but just didn't know his own strength !
so having done a 8hr round trip ! was kernacked by the time I got home .
NOW dolly daydream has an upset stomach !! my new carpet shampoo'er has had mega use this week !!
I tidied all my big pots around the garden today , mowed, swept and built a bonfire but didn't light it yet ...
yesterday was 15 degrees, today 11 degrees and sunny .0 -
Oh dear, alfie, but I suppose that sort of thing will happen when re-homing fostered dogs.0
-
Well, that's a shame about the rehoming Alfie but best not to if it's not the right place.
Dentist trip today - eeeekkkkkkkkk but it's miserable day so wouldn't be doing much here in any case. Hope the weather picks up soon as it's so wet & boggy.0 -
Hope the weather picks up soon as it's so wet & boggy.
Perhaps there's somewhere in the middle that's having normal conditions?
Sheep left today. No sheepdog required; they ran into the holding pen when I rattled the bucket and Pete whisked them off to an equestrian place where they have too much grass.
Hope the dentist went OK, choille. As you know, my NHS gold tooth was pricey and now I need to spend mega £££ having a suit made. I've lost a few kilos, but I still don't fit into any of my 'smart' clothes yet and that wedding is looming.....0 -
Interesting headline above the Forum threads this morning. It won't last long, so here it is for posterity:

Mum's in the best place for now, alfie, so try to fit in a bit of R&R this weekend!0

Can I join in please? I like it here. I live in Devon and have a smallish house with a dis-proportionally 3/4 acre garden. I like mowing grass, hens and growing fruit and veg.
I hope your mum improves soon alphie, it's amazing how a UTI can affect the elderly so quickly.
My mum has dementia and lives with me, she's so much happier than when on her own. Physically she is very fit and helps quite a bit in the garden although her style is different to mine but it's not worth falling out and plants will soon regrow when she's no longer around. She likes things neat and tidy whereas people would call mine a wildlife gardenYesterday we planted potatoes and raspberries, I dug the holes and she dropped them in.
This year I've decided to be realistic and have increased fruit bushes and decreased veg one the sunny plot. I'm not sure what to do with another largish plot, 4m x 8m. It stands alone and is flat I could grass seed it then eventually open it up again or I could fence it and keep more hens but my egg supply is about right with what I have. I need to decide before the weeds take over - it had brassicas so relatively clear just now.
I had my hair cut at the local college today, £10 well spent (including £2 tip) In town it's about £18 but last summer I happened to mention I was going to a wedding. She said she'd do it special which as far as I could tell was just faffing around with the drying for an extra few minutes and charged me £36!! Once bitten......Love living in a village in the country side0 -
Alfie - hope mum is on the mend poor thing.
My Wellies - sounds like you have a nice set up with loads to keep you busy.
That's good about the hair cut - it's about 20 years since I was last at the hairdressers so I should go. I cut my own hair but could do with a proper one I suppose.
Getting all trim for the wedding Dave. Sounds like it's a countdown to the day.
Got soaked today and cold. My own fault as I shouldn't have discarded my waterproofs - looked fair then just got to the other end of the beach when the sky went black and down it came.
I'm needing to get warmed through as I've been cold since then.
Can't be bothered - like mid winter here!0 -
