  • THANK YOU... hubby and I were smiling from ear to ear... like we had won the lottery... it really meant a lot that the judges thought some of our piglets/weaners were worthy of a second....plus then the bidders thought our pigs were better than the first prize winners by bidding more for our little uns..

going to Carmarthen livestock market tomorrow to have a nose... not selling nothing, BUT taking the trailer just incase lol...

right catch you all tomorrow, going back up the ranch now...

bloody froze today... really was cold, even with thermals on..

well done CTC and OH. :T but of course your piglins were the best ;) bet it made all those drama's and mudpeditions worth it . it is absolutely freezing here... crystals on the ponds  showed 2-3d. ive got a bit of a result re the street lamps.. head man rang me today to say they would all be either rewired for this new fangled led stuff OR replaced with replica lamps. i pointed out the first one was a bog standard new one ? he said [peddling backwards at 100mph ] that it was probably just a temporary one.... which i pointed out ,if that was the case, was a waste of manpower if it has to be done twice ?? he assured me that it would be corrected. we will see  i walked doggies [not mine] on the forest earlier and it was bluddy freezing and went pitch black half way round !! i think im going to get those light flashing collars for the likkle mutts... AND a big flash light :D

It really helps, the light up collars. I leave ours on non flashing and its both helpful and hilarious. Dog dog in particular is hilarious to see how up and down she is with her head/ neck. Often I get the giggles.

The other day I bought partial antlers for dog dog and kiwi for Christmas ( I'm now certain big dog won't make it) . Tiny little things and pricey.

I thought with envy that you and choille probably just pick 'em up.

LIR - Would really ancient antlers do? I do find broken ones. The good ones I sell on Ebay. I saw a wonderful bird feeder at a keeper's house last week when I went to get some feed. But they do shoot them all the time so they do have a ready supply. In my usual feed place they did mention about selling little pieces of antler - I must admit I was a bit shocked & just thought that trend will never catch on......

At 1st I thought you had bought your dogs sort of velvet head band type antlers & I was just....well....shocked.....^ shaking my head & rolling my eyes ..................

I've been very very noughty today.

CTC - well done you - marvellous. Lovely piggies.

    N'uhuh,

You'll want what you find now for your doggy. :D

I don't know how fresh they have to be to be honest. Fresh or suitably preserved I'm guessing.

As for shocked surely you don't think I'd do this to my grey hound

I only have the one photo to hand....:o

You can see how much she loved it though, she'd wear it all year round. They all died through over use.....she thought she could charge the others with them on like a stag.
