YAY !... CAUGHT [LASOOED LIKE JOHN WAYNE] THE SHEEP :j

I outwitted, outsmarted a sheep ... look good on my CV :D

farrier cancelled and gardeners not there today so managed by my lonesome...

funny thing is once they are caught they are like little angels ? easily put the purple saviour on its hornless bump and off it went kicking up its heels...

poor old jim jam [stallion] is still confined as horses STILL in field next door to his field.. so getting through half a bale of haylage a day [hes a big lad ! ]
she said would be for 2 weeks ! I know its their field [well one of over 300 acres of fields used by farmer] but there has NEVER been livestock in there as no water supply .. and suddenly after we asked again if we could rent it off him they turn up.. he told us that if he didn't use it he would lose his "grant"? for it ... but horses don't count as agricultural ?? we would have matched the grant amount.. and stuck the sheep in there ... with horses ;)

    been a nice day today

anyone else noticed the bees going bonkers ? theres a load in the wall of the wooden stable and the last few days they have all been VERY active and almost queing to get in the 2 entrances, leaving masses on the outside wall aswell.
same is happening to the bees at a friends who have lived for years happily under/inside her terrace /walkway roof but at the moment they are going mental... not swarming just mega activity in and around the entrance ? and all over the upstairs windows [Alfred Hitchcock style !] ... is it the weather ? too many bees? queens not leaving ? gawd knows !!

Well, we got very wet again today, but it wasn't sweat this time. Water just fell in sheets, got covered in mud from tip to toe, very slippy stuff when it's wet, and I'm tired out from the week's heat // wet.

I could go out later and find out if the new ditches work....

But I think we'll just stay in the dry, and polish off a bottle!

Feelin' lazy now... Cleaner, in places, after a long shower!

YeeHaa Alfie. Now to park the wagons in a circle, and warm them beans....

No rain in Zummerzet, where I was yesterday. Very pleasant. :)

Wasn't so nice when I snapped this liiving wall in Exeter on Friday. I promised a picture, so here it is:

I'll be monitoring it regularly, as it's on my "Get through Exeter almost painlessly" route....:D

    And here's one for alfie....

If you've ever wondered what you'd get if you crossed Bimble with a pug.....

    14t7hpc.jpg

This is Milo. He's very good tempered and brilliant with my niece's daughter, who's about 15 months old. Knows which are his n' her toys.... and only chews his! :)

    Has a permanent grin! :D

dave... ask LIR if bimble knows the difference between toys he CAN have and ones he CANT... cos he doesn't :rotfl:
does that make your dog a pumble ?

I have spent today [7am start] coaxing a petrified dog out of a maize field ! I laid a food trail.. [it was spotted yesterday [Friday] running up and down a very rural lane near here but just ran off. ]
I went back at t time and did same but into a big dish of grub in the back of a big dog cage. I had carefully rigged up a rope to shut the door system then laid commando style in the field hanging on to the other end ! after a looooong time the dog appeared again and went into the cage .. now if I say so myself, for my age ;) , my speed at pulling that rope and launching upwards in Olympic style was a sight to behold...:rotfl:
poor thing was scared stiff but after some Alfie goo goo chat he settled. he is very stressed on a lead but will let me carry him ? hes like a very big yorkie. seems healthy but an odd place for him to be...as if he was waiting in that area for owner which I hope doesn't mean it was dumped ! anyway its bedded down for the night and chip check at vets in the morning.. fingers crossed..

theres a local'ish dog that's been missing for 4 weeks now and theres a team of dog "do gooders" that try [usually succeed] and take over the "rescue".. which usually extends the time its lost !!! they tried it with me when I put out a FB message saying "dog found" ....good old fashioned miss marple'ing works for me ...

ive got another mission tomorrow to see a mare and foal in need !!! but LIR is my saviour with this one :D

Y'know I think I've been had. Looking at that planted wall more carefully, I think they must be plastic! :o
  • :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: That did make me laugh Dave, the big Yorkie and the plastic 'living' wall :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

alfie, you are a superstar for rescuing that poor dog, hope it hasn't just been dumped :(
