RAS - the beech are just opening here. I hope you are okay RAS. Sorry you can't type.
Have you got this horrid cough virus thing?
Do take care.
Off to the newly opened shop that has compost in. Friend who has moved into Ullapool wants plants so I will get some seedlings potted up for her & Rogosas & things.0 -
hi all
bit of a sh*te day yesterday...
got to the field early , did a hoss head count and one missing. thought she might be in the field shelter so headed in that direction and then saw her. dead ! sadly it appears she must have been scratching her head on a post but got it wedged between 2 posts and couldn't get her head free. dreadfull sad way to go. then had the task of freeing her. a workman helped me and we got her into a trailer ready to be picked up..
bawled my eyes out when she went off.
she was a sweet little mini..
gutted isn't the word for it.
have to tell myself it was a fluke accident and I got the guys in today to totally alter that section of fencing [it was where fence met field shelter corner]
sorry to be doom and gloom but had to "sound off"0 -
Our elm hedge is fully out and so is the beech, but the ash are only around half way at present.
My sympathies to all those with the lurgy that hangs on, and on, and on. I suppose we were lucky here, having it early in the year, when there was less set-back in being ill.
Pretty tired now, thanks to a couple of days on the rear roof. The blessing there is that it's just a plain roof with no gable, so we should be 2/3 of the way through it by tomorrow evening. After that we get to the wonky bit, so we have to play it by ear with the weather....
EDIT: Just read your post alfie....So sorry. Can't think of the words right now, but know she will have had a great life with the others and with you caring for her, irrespective of how it ended.0 -
Oh, Alfie I am very sorry to hear that. I nearly had a sheep go the same way. It's one of those things that you could never foresee.
Hope that you know that you are such a wonderful animal lover & any creature that gets a home with you is very very well looked after.0 -
Alfie..😢😢😢 I am so, so sorry. Like Dave, I don't know what to say...Work to live= not live to work0

Dolly will have them where she feels she wants to I suppose.
Quite a thing - expecting pups. What will you do with them?
Beautiful day here - again. I went down to the shore & walked quite a way over rough rocks & ended up having to cut up through someone else's ground as I felt a bit wobbly. It's unoccupied so I didn't feel too bad, but felt a bit naughty & cloak & dagger. Saw the most fabulous Japonica there.0 -
