You do all sound really busy. Work is crazy for me at the moment but I don't think the NHS will stop being crazy, well not until it is completely privatised; so gardening is proving more of a solace than usual. We are still waiting on a quote for our fence, 2 weeks now since the guy came and said he would get back to us in a few days.
Anyway, I am going to just place my plants out over the weekend so I can see how the bones of my new borders might look, then think about what else I will need. Planning on planting September or October I think. Just keep growing them on in pots, hopefully I can keep them alive!0 -
We did get some roofing done yesterday pm, in perfect conditions too.
Now pushing on to try and straighten the bit that looks dodgy, even though it's not structurally bad.....
Fay, could you not line your plants out somewhere in the garden just for the summer and then dig them up in the autumn? Easier to keep that way, and they won't notice.0 -
Much cooler here & duller - I found it too hot these past few days - or should it be passed?
Off to Inverness.0 -
Morning all,
We seem to be getting nowhere fast!!!
We got loads and loads to do..and money is non existent . But I do have a load of crap I can try and sell on the bay..while we have been sorting things out we have been taking stuff to the local farm auctions, and you could more or less sell everything, but even now you got to put lots together for them to sell..
The job turned out only to be temp. So will be looking for something else.Work to live= not live to work0 -
gorgeous day here again after a slow misty start !
ive been to the dentist and have a temp toof now so nanny mc fee is no more !... at least I wont look like an old kacker at the sale now ...
ive been trying to get together all the bits and bobs I will need at the show as im working all week and will just load up Thursday evening after an airport run ...
really pleased to have a corner position as can have 2 entrances which means double exposure not squeezed between a row0 -
Made a few changes in the back garden, removing photinia which had done nothing for years and suffered from leaf spot/leaf drop and looked a mess.
Replaced by a Carex pendula which was getting hidden behind the dogwoods. It's a 'thug' but all the plants along my problem border need to be to survive.0 -
Just finished a Market, where people were there looking-out for our tomatoes, so that's good. They've given me a bit of bother this cold spring, so it's nice to see they're appreciated.:)
Roof is waterproof, but still unfinished, on the part we opened-up on Thursday. As with the floors, the bit they tacked-on to the original house isn't quite at the same level, so we have to find ways of disguising that. :undecided
We had a letter this morning from the people who administer plant royalties, telling us we're 500 euros in debt, as the receipts don't balance their admin costs. :eek:They want us to rescind the agreement and relinquish our rights, which is fine if they cancel the debt first! The plant was never launched properly or promoted by our partners in the industry, so I expect they'll be the ones picking up the tab, rather than have a fight which might sully their reputation. They're a bunch of shysters, but their image is squeaky-clean.
Our photina doesn't do anything either, IHS. I don't say anything, as it was a DW purchase! :rotfl:0 -
Still sunny with us, so popped along to local NTS garden; slight 'May gap' with only the pheasants eye species daffodil still blooming. I noticed their Rodgersia has been clobbered by a late frost.
I spent more time completely re-doing the smaller aquarium, after two weeks it was covered in brown diatom algae. The plants were given a soaking in a dilute solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide and I bleached the tank. I think it was the sand substrate which put far too much silicates into the water.0 -
Dry here & a chill wind.
The bug we both had seems to have floored us & we go for a lie down in the afternoon, which is a bit pathetic, but just left us feeling .jiggered.
I don't think I'll be long in going to bed again, can't shake this tired all the time ness.0 -

Two months ago, I was the same with it. Very frustrating, but you may as well rest, as it takes so long to clear, even if you treat yourself right. It was with me 6 weeks.
Sold more plants at the gate this afternoon. :j It's the weather for it, but still a chill wind. I love this time of year, and yet I hate it too because I spend so much time at the back of a strimmer or a mower!0
