Just placed my order plants for the extended border, to add to what I'll be transferring from elsewhere -

    Geranium 'Johnson's Blue' *6
    Pachysandra terminalis * 6
    Hosta 'Sum and Substance'
    Polystichum setiferum 'Plumosomultilobum Group'
    Liriope 'muscari monroe White'
    Iris pseudacorus

For the iris, not having a pond, I have a plan to plant that into the soakaway that is fed from the French drains.

We have iris here on the wet parts of the croft - yellow ones growing wild.

Cold, raining & grey here. I think there's some fresh snow on Sail Mhor.

    Clocks forward.

I love the yellow flags. There's a huge stand of them by the road from Llanbedrog to Pwllheli on some boggy land... Think it was prob flooded land this winter, the ground around there is still absolutely sodden. Even a short shower leaves water sitting on the ground. And the side of the road that is usually dry(ish) has obviously been flooded over the winter, no grass growing, just a mess of mud there.

Just done a couple of hours outside, am expecting rain although it's nicer than forecast. I'll try and get the remaining dahlias and cannas in pots.

I seems that cyclamen and erythronium can't survive the winter in my garden. Totally rotted away. Also, a lot of daffs I put unto a side border have gone! Must have been mice or squirrels.

Have to be so careful stepping on the ground at this time of year, there's shoots popping up all over.

My changes to the French drains has worked, no standing water even after the 6cm of rain in the last 24hrs.

It's the same here Maggie - The place is a bog. I think when the lambs come they will drown.

We were sorta getting a bit dried out & then it's poured again this past few days.

Horse Woman is alive and well! I know because I've just seen her playing with big dog in her field.

However the plastic 4x4 she drives isn't there, so she could have been back for a couple of days for all I know. The car usually indicates her presence, or not. Lights on or off at night have no significance.

Obviously, Womanwagon didn't survive the road trip, which judging from the amount of filler on it, doesn't really surprise me.

Will have to phone around now with the glad tidings...:o

    Poor Mum.
Can you get one of those 'ejector ' chairs from Social Services that have a lever to tilt you upwards from sitting.

Gone really really cold here - weather is nuts at the moment - well all the time now.
