Sounds like the panto went well even though you've traumatised the local toddlers. Time to lay down the trusty sword & rest up......

Unfortunately, there are another 3 nights to go! :( ....

The sword isn't that trusty either. It's a Darth Vader light sabre with a telescopic bit that flies out when you flick it, but equally, it goes back t'other way as the fight progresses. I use that to add comic effect and, hopefully, end up with just a handle, when my adversary delivers a blow that sends me crashing down.....We have to do this to music, and my two adversaries are teenagers with somewhat better coordination than me, so anything can happen..... Add to this a bikini-clad 'blonde,' who flounces on to announce the rounds, but keeps having trouble with her bra and....well, you get the idea... :rotfl:

    I don't feel too special today. :o

Is the bikini clad blonde Male? or Female - we all know the tendencies for cross-dressing in your neck of the woods!

Male, for safety. That bra never stays on. I'm just counting the number of us cross-dressed this year and it's lower than usual.... only 5. :D

We received a donation last night from an august group who always attend, despite the fact that they view our antics as somewhat smutty & low-brow. It's because we give opportunities to so many children, who may move on to higher things. :A

This, despite the fact that one of the cast altered the script to imply that they caused trouble last year and also left items of underclothing behind.....:rotfl:

You live in a veritable hot bed.

If someone puts the wrong wheelie bin out here that causes a scandal.

There are so many houses on the market here we think it's been the rotten Winter. The prices of some seem quite high, but things are moving - wonder if the new stamp duty thing coming in in April is having an impact.

Audience were great last night and everyone was more relaxed, but the general feelings of un-wellness I had, have now become a streaming cold, sore throat and aching bones. Not surprising when many people I'm cooped-up with four+ hours a day were having this earlier. They got their timing right! :(

So, all that lovely planting I'd planned for today probably won't happen. Grrr! ...but it's looking like rain anyway. :(
Hmmm....so long as I can still shout! :p

Cars always manage to break in awkward places, alfie, like my puncture in front of that car sales place a couple of weeks ago. Regrettably, my spare is carried underneath too, but at least I can lower it without jacking the car up. I was astonished to hear that my FiL's new car doesn't even have a spare wheel. I suppose he must have run-flat tyres or something.

Just about everyone in the Panto is now at some stage or other with this bug; the inevitable result of cramming 30 bodies into a dressing room the size of someone's front room. But the show must go on...

Luckily, we have a radio mike, so the principal boy, who'd lost her voice, was able to get through without us using an understudy.... we don't have any of those! :o

I spent 5 or 6 hours in bed today, just sleeping, so I felt OKish. All I had to do was change my make-up to allow for a streaming nose.......

Three down & one to go. :)

Is this man your Ruby's with insured, alfie?

Ruby sounds like a bit of a diva Alfie!

It's snowed a bit & the wind has been really gusty. It blew a filled feed bucket off a fence strainer post. I put it there to save carrying it all the way up the track. If it had hit a sheep it would have killed it.

Take care with the bug Dave. Real troopers you all sound.

This weather is disgusting & don't look much better for tomorrow.

The most exciting thing today was losing my big spoon down the burn. The big spoon was used for stirring levelling compound & I washed out the bucket in the burn & lost the big spoon was swept away but I got it trapped in a low lying tree branch - well a tree that's sort of conked into the burn.
I'm so sad that I was really glad I got the big spoon back. I've had it a long time & it's very useful for all sorts of odd jobs!
  • Weather is total pants here, rain, wind and more rain and wind.

Davesnave.. Hope you feel better soon.. It sounds as though you will be glad to see the back of this years panto.

Hubby is at the hospital at the moment. After careful Ming back from there last night . and having a chat with Alfie online.. We need to think of what can be put into place re care for when she comes out. The hospital are going to contact social services etc, but I honestly think we should start thinking long term now. She owns her own home, so I don't know if she will need to sell it to cover care costs etc????,

Maybe I am jumping too far ahead at the moment.
