Or if you want to pm people the link, at the top of the post, on the right there is v,press that, and it will say external link. If you click on that,it will automatically copy . and then all you do is paste ..

Back to torrential rain and wind here, except this time the Atlantic depression hasn't got a daft name!

I've given it a few! I expect, however, that the worst for us will arrive tomorrow......

Trying to cancel the conservatory surveyor. He might not need much persuading either. River is high, but not out yet:

Sorry about the adverts on the above site. Pain in posterior, but they still work. :o

Horrible again here - should only mention when it's nice as it's just wet & windy all the time.

Went to see Rich Hall last night & ended up a really great night out, but didn't get up early today.

My bulbs are all shooting up even though it is so nasty & cold.
Brought a passion flower inside that I keep in a pot & that is now having a growth spurt on the kitchen window cill. I do like them but they won't survive outdoors in the winter so I keep them in a pot.

Just slopping out in front of the Rayburn listening to the wind & rain.

Surveyor cancelled and re-scheduled. He had two more places to visit in this area and didn't sound too delighted, but I bet he'll be thanking me tomorrow! :p

There was no way I was going to be helping him measure up, or trying to talk construction with him in a force 8 gale and torrential rain. This is hard enough as it is.

Had some visitors Friday, and more today: people we'd not seen since we sold our old house at the end of 2008. The weather co-operated and the sun came out, so their decision to bring wellies was rewarded....briefly. Not sure if they thought we were mad, but they threatened to return......at a better time of year. :)

Panto rehearsals are getting more frantic now, as we all forget bits :o, but it'll be OK by the week after next...hopefully!
Once that's out of the way, we'll return to full building mode again, although I hope to have the bathroom finished before then. Famous last words....

The internet is a life-saver. Not having tiled a shower area before, I did research and asked a question on MSE. Now, I feel pretty confident to do the tricky bits properly, including things like tanking, which I don't think the plumber was intending to do. :naughty: Mine probably won't look as good as his, but I'll have done all the preparation to the letter, so at least it should stay watertight.

funnily enough DAVE my mum is having her bathroom modernised and plummer said she had to have her shower walls redone as they hadn't properly sealed the walls ...just tiles on normal plaster. mum queried this with me and I did confirm as ive seen many barf rooms "sorted at my boss's properties.... its a false economy to not do it.... [im assuming thatswhat you meant by tanking ?

chap whos training ruby came today and did the dentals on all 9 remaining hoss's.... brave man ! he even got the "holy terror" sorted.. bearing in mind he is an absolute spoilt brat, and entirely our fault, is loony tunes !

I think with the modern grout & sealants & shower trays you don't need to tank?

The gritter is out & about - which is a sign it's to freeze.
