We went up Porlock hill recently, it was quite scary. But not as much as when I saw the original vintage bus going over it regularly...I don't think I would be brave enough for that lol

Still so mild with me, so was doing the 1st gardening of 2016 - actually cutting down the last of the perennials and clearing all the fallen leaves from around the willow. The last thing I want is to be giving the slugs and snails a nice place to spend the winter!

In the conservatory, pelargoniums are remaining in flower, the prepared hyacinth is usually on the kitchen window sill.

morning all.... I wont say "good morning" cos it aint ! it is a howling wind and lashing rain...
dogs just went out,had a sprinter speed pee and back in.. now all huddled in a heap on the sofa like a waddingtons puzzle game,
ive just filled the bird feeders and it was like feeding the 5000 !

lots of people are having to move their horses as it is now swamping. postie has asked me to check out a couple of unused fields I know people have, so that's todays mission.

I have to go fetch feed for the animogs today but need to brace myself to go out the front door ! mind you its small fry here compared to the north ! I just feel so sorry for the folks made homeless. must feel desperate for them. not close enough to help ...

hello to the newbies, sorry not to have the names..

all xmas d!cor is gone now.. feels back to normal now..... whatever that is !!

somebody has written a hilarious page [bit like wiki] on tinternet and this was part of it...just had to share ...

    THE NEW FOREST

This may sound like another cruel pastime, however, harm to the ponies is rare. Essentially you have to drive along a New Forest road as slowly as possible until a long stream of traffic builds behind you. Then, upon seeing a pony doing something hilarious or amazing, like having a poo or eating grass - you know - pony stuff, you brake as sharply and suddenly as possible, causing a multiple car pile up behind. Leaning out of your window, ignoring the carnage you have caused, you point a camera at the pony, and take a picture. Be quick though, because it will bite your head off if you linger too long. New Forest ponies have exceedingly sharp teeth and a taste for blood.

If we are on jokey stuff, here's a link to a video I posted years ago, because I thought it was both funny and clever:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTAAsCNK7RA

However, having just re-discovered the one above, I found another, more recent, which just blew me away! With 25 million views, most of you will have seen it, but I hadn't, so here's a link to that too:

PS I know it was recorded at half the speed of playback! :)

we have a likkle bit of flooding ! went to get feed and had to find alternative routes..
think ive sorted a field for an oldie and companion hoss's. the water is just laking the fields here..

weve been lucky with our fields as top ones have underground drainage into a long ditch before reaching bottom 2. they are still wet but could be worse....

We are escaping flooding here, I think. We had a biblical rainstorm first thing, but after that passed, it was a reasonable day with none of the high winds we'd been expecting. :)

Looks like there's more on the way, but if we keep this pattern of gaps between the deluges, we'll just be very soggy.

After working hard to replace the [STRIKE]manhole[/STRIKE] inspection chamber that used to leak, we've discovered that there is another hole in the pipework, through which ground water is currently pouring. We know this because the drain just before it goes under the conservatory is dry, but water is coming out of it on the other side!

So, when they built the conservatory, something pipework-related got broken. Good job it's being demolished soon. :p
