LDLS owners manual (page 12)
"We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

Many thanks for that, it's most handy. I will have the manual somewhere, but can find little at the moment so that is great.0

am I the only one who feels gloomy at this time of year with this weather ? I know its expected...it is November!
I think cos its dark so early it makes for a long evening and a frustratingly short day..
I have done nothing today ,bar cooking dinner, im going out this evening to see a friends fella in his band [coming down from London ] at a local forest working mans club.. its one of those no airs and graces clubs .. I keep looking out the window asking myself WHY on earth im going out in a storm !! but I must make the effort...
stay safe peeps :-)0 -
Evening all
I think losing a family the feeling that grief all your life, would be like an eternity.. That's what I ment choille.
Well our little Wendy house type shed is flooded, its in a bit of a dip in the garden, so will be moving that when it's dryer.. The weather is totally pants, and loads of water , mud everywhere...I am soooo glad have spare piggy runs so I an move them around if need be..I would hate to be in a position where the pigs were in knee deep in mud all the time, and no dryer spots ..etc..
Well new additions arrived last night last one was born around 10.30pm, but we stayed with her until around 2.30am just make sure everything was OK.. Was sitting in her shed with a head light and big tourch. Wraped up in a welsh blanket...
So absolutely knackered now!!Work to live= not live to work0 -
Snow-chains have been delivered by the Amazon van, thereby guaranteeing a mild winter...if it ever stops raining I'll practice putting them on.0

Yes,Alfie it is glomy - short days & wet & cold, but I do like to get out - for a while at least.
Hope you have a lovely evening = sounds a good night ahead. I think I'll list some things in the faint hope they'll sell.
OH is out in the house all warm with the Rayburn lit- lucky him & I've just lit the van stove as I got really chilled today. Don't have internet connection rigged up in the house yet - but will be glad when I get new computer as I have to edit everything & fairly bang on the keys.
I know what you mean CTC, but I just think that we all feel rotten about what's going on but I feel terrible about the whole war in the Middle East & throughout the world & how many lives are being lost daily & there is no mention of all of that. A death is a death whether it be in the middle east or Europe. I'm not condoning what has happened -far from it - it is truly awful, but to talk of retribution is hopeless, deadly & hopeless for further countless people. I felt quite sickened to hear that sort of talk from 'leaders' in the West.0 -

I think it's plain that it suits the powers who run USA inc to have a 'war against terror.' It clearly wasn't a bunch of relatively unsophisticated terrorists who dreamt-up 9/11 and carried it through so effectively. Osama and WMD were just smoke & mirrors....
But hey, this is supposed to be a non-political thread with an element of feelgood....or something...so I'll end by saying IHS's snow chains are working already. It was 15c in Credition at 8pm this evening.....:)0 -
Morning all
What a night!!! The weather forecast said the bad wind etc was for north Wales etc.. So I really dread what the weather is like up north if the wind we have now is not classed as bad!!!!
We have decided to have some shop bought kitchen units..so I am a bit confused tobwhat to go for any ideas I was thinking cream??
Some wall are stone, the floor will be flagstone colour/ look
The wall that the units will be against we are sanding back the old wide floorboards and the will be running horizontal across that wall, depending on what they will be like when they are sanded back, I was thinking of trying to do a washed out white wash on them, or putting some sort of stain on them??
The kitchen table and dresser etc are a shabby green co!our, and our stove is cream.. So any ideas on the kitchen colour?? There will only be 1 sink bass unit and a unit each side of thatWork to live= not live to work0 -

Washed and distressed timber sounds fine for for back drop and I'd go mainly white there. This sorta thing
As for the units, DIY Kitchens get many recommendations over on 'In My Home' and a simple style would probably be the least likely to swear at your other kitchen furnishings. The doors can be 'proper' wood too, like ash; no vinyl wrap.
This one is a bit more expensive, but you can choose your own colour:

EDIT:
Can't help thinking that there might be something better you could do though, like getting basic kitchen units in pine and painting them yourself. There 's a place near me that does pine stuff, some of it reclaimed, to take sinks etc, but their web-site is down just now (typical Debn!:rotfl::() They are cheap because they use Polish workers who knock out fairly standard designs in a huge workshop, but they can tweak these to order.
You must have a similar place near you....somewhere?????0
