Scorchio! (well, for November)
The UK's November temperature record has been broken, with 22.3C (72.1F) being reached in mid Wales.
Brought my amaryllis into flower too.0 -
Sounds like your kids are busy anyway, lucielle.
Mowing for the last time this season? Nah, not here anyroad. Will not do that till the end of November, about the same time as they harvest the maize.
I should grab that space alfie! :rotfl:
Speaking of kids, my DD2 has to go up the job ladder. She transferred to Bristol and carried on much as before, but she found her new contract restricted her hours as a result of the living wage. They're all like this now. So, she's interviewing for a higher managerial post this week.....in Swindon! :undecided0 -

Not sure that Crosswood (Trawsgoed) is in Mid Wales.....On the borders maybe, but if I lived there I'd shop in Aberystwyth.:p
They forecast more for tomorrow, but all we had today was mist!:(:(:(0 -
well it sure was a foggy day today ...only lifted for a couple of hours this afternoon .. otherwise it was max 50yds vision.
sorted my cupboards under the stairs today [must have the sorting bug !] one is now all xmas decor etc and other is all the tools sorted and bits and pieces sorted into small tubs in trays so now no excuse not to find a fuse, screw, curtain ring etc.. ha ha ...
found a fridge the right height today too... in the local to my mum little shop ! and yes, she told me to go there weeks ago...
not the cheapest [£300] but its ideal... delivery in 2 weeks as they have ordered it for me.
STILL cant decide on walls/curtain colours for my bedroom... if I did the walls and curtains the same [as close as] colour it would be a pale gold with similar carpet and then the bold coloured feature wall papered.. but not sure if it would blend ... oh poop , im better off just doing it and panic later...............0 -
It was misty/foggy east and south of here. We hovered between almost sunny and misty, so no wonderful temperatures after all.:(
Mr Rod finished the rendering twiddly bits and we returned the mower + shopping and other boring things, like putting the covers over the ventilation side screens in the polytunnel.
We're gradually hunkering-down, ready for winter, so if the electricians turn up tomorrow and do most of their finishing-off, it'll be another step closer to normality, whatever that is.0 -

dank dark day here today... missley rain, foggy etc.
I think its "cataract" time of year. old lady I see to going in Thursday for one eye and mums just told me she has to have both hers done !! so waiting to hear of her appointments.
old lady was seen and app op within 3 weeks so mum may be hot on her heels...... ive advised she stop with me for a couple of days after [they will do each one at different times I may add !!]
sons GF is over from Vancouver for xmas [2 weeks]so that will be nice albeit quieter than her robust family xmas's from sons stories from last year ! mums coming here too so far unless she gets a better offer from wayward sister or brother tho her face said what she thought of that !
cant decide wether to go to reading carriage sale next week .... I KNOW I will prob end up buying but means I have to hire a large truck/van to shift what I buy ! so could spend on that and buy nuffink ? BUT it is the last sale till march '16.... need to decide !0 -

Lectricians came, saw and walked out early, due to a call out. I called out, "'Ere, where are you going?" but it didn't work for me.
Before they left, I asked them to help put the oil tank on the stand I'd built, and they, being body builders, stuck it up there with very minimal assistance from us. So, that was good.
Panto script arrived by carrier pigeon yesterday in the usual format that half the village don't have on their computers. (Most only have Wurd......;)) I see I'm the villain this year, and there seem to be lots of lines to learn, but the script looks good on a first read.0
