Looks like we are in for a blowy day, but things may improve later. Mr Rod is finishing-off the rendering now, so that's one winter worry off the list. He's done a brilliant job. :A

Yesterday we took advantage of a brief improvement in the weather and nipped up to Bristol with the rest of DD2's furniture & effects, so that's the barn a little less 'full' now too. We'd like to move some of our more damp-sensitive stuff from there before things turn really nasty weather-wise.

Yesterday's trip neatly coincided with the ending of a rough cut lawnmower on ebay, so after winning it with one bid, I picked it up en-route from the dealer in Tiverton. :D I hope this one does the business, as I've learned on Landscape Juice (http://landscapejuicenetwork.com/) that pros have used it for grass verges, orchards etc.

If not, I think I'll start a mower shop! :rotfl:
  • You could always think of lawnmower racing, and build a circuit on your land.. And pimp up some sit on lawnmawers.. Lol ..

Hang on, that's not as silly as it sounds , I would live to see lawnmawers racing going down the dragstrip at the bulldog bash ..that would be a sight lol..

Weather has been wet and very windy ..must be half term....

Mower was poo and I broke the pull cord in the first 15 minutes!:rotfl:

Fortunately, it came from a dealer, who has offered to take it back, so I have gifted him my nice but non-starting hedge trimmer for being kind.....and no doubt he wants to keep his 100% ebay score. ;)

This still leaves me searching for a mower to do the chicken orchards, woodland and other rough bits. :(

Had to use an ouija board, but finally connected with the electrician, who's been 'on the coast.' Hmmm....

Dave I think you should write a book called lawnmower tales :D

Not been posting much although I have been reading. Things are ticking along nicely here although the garden could do with a bit more attention :o Hopefully if the weather holds I will be able to get out there this weekend.

Well...I'm pondering if I should buy a sythe Dave so I am going less rather than ...more tech wise.

Been good as the guy whos doing stuff arrived today so that was a surprise as it's gotten.......patchy....to say that we don't really have much of a momentum going on in the slightest.

I spent some time loading up sacks with scalpings that the council had left at the side of the road after they'd redone a bit - they just dumped what they didn't use, so I left it for a couple of months & then.......just liberated it & have used it on my pot holes, I didn't get it all, so I'll go back tomorrow. My back is killing me.......but it's free & that's a big incentive.

Come really mild tonight - quite overcast.

Wired sort of weather temps, one minute it is wet, blowing a gale and cold, the get its just grey, damp and quite mild..

Hubby and step father done the framework against the pine end wall yesterday, considering there isn't a straight wall in the house, it didn't take them that long... So when the range comes on Wednesday we can see exactly where its going to go on that wall, and then we can start sorting out the pipes, cables, insulation etc before we board it with the old floor boards.. Which hubby will need to sand right back.and depending on what they look like will depend on if we keep them like that, or do some sort of white wash on them.

EBay is still quiet, and loads of people are saying the same, regardless of what they are selling...
So def need to get operation gate sales, and plant sales off the ground next year..

I sell through a unit in an arcade place, and that is very quiet too, not much shifting at all. A lot of folks just don't have the spare cash, I guess, despite the government telling us that we are all better off :(

I'll be beddiing the slabs on top of the oil tank platform today so that it's all ready for placing the tank up there next week, when I might have sufficient muscle power working here. ;)

Then it's "fill her up," though I might have to attach a bit of pipe to convince the driver it's all plumbed-in, as some won't deliver to a bare tank.:o

Next, I have to build a wind-defeating fence around the tank, before finally getting to the fun bit, where I plant up a bed with shrubs to hide it all. Our neighbours, who are very nice, use the area just beyond the tank as a collection point for...err... 'discarded items, ' and they discard a lot, so it's been a long term aim to make the whole boundary there very densely green. :D

But first, I have about 2 tonnes of driveway scalpings to move....

The government only cherry pick industries, figures etc..to make them look good, they are good at that. There is no way we are better off, I would go to say that we are wide off than ever..I honestly think we are tittering on the edge of a huge collapse ..and the government owes more money now, than when they first came into power...
