    Its dark out there lol
Yes, but the light didn't go as fast as I thought it might, so I got through the afternoon jobs. :D

I wasn't supposed to be here today. It was MiL's 80th, so we were meant to be there, but DW didn't wish to give everyone her lurgy. Very noble, but I still have to fend it off! :p

The grass I mowed today was the healthiest it's been all year, so I doubt if that's the last cut. I'll be doing it all fully in a fortnight.

Slowly sorting out the polytunnel, because it takes an age to get ready for winter and there's always a last minute panic when heavy frosts are forecast. The tomatoes are still going well, but I have to use a step stool to pick most of them now!

This winter, as well as the shrub cuttings I do in the poly, I'm trying mass cuttings outdoors. I have 2 strips of ground cover stuff about 5cm apart and between them I'm just pushing in the cuttings. I might cover them with fleece once they're all in place, mainly because I've not chosen a very sheltered site. I just used what was available. :o

We'll I've been trying to list stuff- well, photograph stuff - in the house, so I don't look too trailer trash. It's a palaver: carying stuff out there, doing the photographing, fetching it back in here, listing it & thencarrying it back out to stoe upstairs in the house - I'm beggered.

Good idea about the cuttings Dave. Ihave a lovely shrub - looks like a bamboo, but the flowers have lasted months. It now has some black & crimson berries on it. The wind the other day knocked some off onto the track & birds were feasting on them. I don't know what it is or where it came from - can't remeber.

Still working on ole jiggered lap top & I have to bang on some letters to get them to work. It keeps going blue screen - so not the fastest list I've done.

Guy hasn't got back about the new computer that didn't work right - he's had it over a fortnight. I am fed up - really not chuffed - there's not a lot I am chuffed about at the moment.
    I'm a grumpy old cow.

I know what that is ......leycesteria formosa! :D The berries smell of burnt toffee when ripe and the seed is dead easy to germinate. ;)

But what do I care, now I'm a millionaire? It's true, as this email I was sent testifies:

"This is a notification from the Euro Millions that you have been chosen by the Euro Millions Award as one of the final recipients of the Euro Millions Awards for personal, educational, and business development."

Strange that they don't know my name though, or that the email address they supply is just a gmail account! :rotfl:

Who falls for this stuff?

Well, some scammer might have contacted me, but the electricians are still lying low. At least the plumber has promised a day 'soon' and ordered some parts.

Meanwhile, Mr Rod has come within 2 days of completing the rendering......

But I saw tomorrow's forecast for Devon and gave him the day off!

    hi all...
I have mind boggled myself today looking at hoss driving carts... its a thankless task I may add. I have trawled the ads and best are "oop norf" and worst are "daan sarf"...:o
I think I will head to the reading sales in November just to get a price guide.. sales finish then till spring so cant really miss it...not gonna buy tho ;)
weather here is very cold BUT I have so many flowers still out. my mix of dahlias, nasturtiums and blue things in a corner bed are thriving still. roses are en-mass out front. seeds I dropped amongst them sprouting !!

old gal dog makes me laugh... whenever I think she is too wibbly wobbly and suffering she perks up and gambles about trying to impersonate a spring lamb.. trouble is the back legs don't always keep time with the front and she resembles a drunk on a Saturday night..:rotfl:

leycesteria formosa - that's it Dave. How clever you are! It's a cracking plant & been such a joy for months & months. Now the birds are getting their pleasure from it - lovely thing.

We too have unappearing work men - still no flue pipe, even though we keep getting told it will happen - thing is the weather is waning & the wind picking up - not ideal fo going on rooves.

Alfie - hope old girl is doing well for ages. Do you ever give them Cod Liver Oil? When I was little we all got a teaspoon of the nasty tasting stuff & would line up for it as would the cat & he too would get a spoon ful & had a shiny coat & no stiff limbs.

Been listing on the bay stuff I've sorted out in the hope things will pick up & sell. Been not too bad a day, but not really managed much outdoors. Tomorrow is a dentist do & then next day a rush management day - the croft is covered in them so that should be interesting.

OH got hold of compute guy to find out about ours, but he's still not found out what's wrong with it so that's over a fortnight & I'm not really plesed about that as it wasn't cheap.

    Nice moon out tonight.

I too have an appt with the dentist today. One straightforward filling and one "it could go either way." I am thinking of leaving the second one to see if it's really necessary. :o

We're due to have 1" to 2" of rain here today.....and I can believe it, although I did get the hens out before the first real cloudburst. :D

Shoulda soaped the car down while I was out there.....

was he a proper seller? in that I mean he sells them all the time? get a replacement as it sounds like he may say its fixed and you will be back to square one if it goes wrong again ! [they aren't "returns" he is selling I hope !!]

The computer was brand new, but has always been slow to come on right from the start when we bought it the other month - we took it back in as it was just grinding to start up & would take 20 mins.

He's had it over a fortnight & doesn't know what's wrong with it, but it was in a sale & I wonder if he's buying 2nds - even though it was not cheap and we bought a new A3 scanner, printer to match in with it.

I do find him very ackward as if he doesn' regard women vey highly on the techie front of things -he can be down right rude, but I'll send Mr Choille in to deal with him.:o

We ae using ole lap top that we did buy from him but he reckons is well knackered, but so far it's limping on - which is just as well as I'd/we'd both be snookered.

I found my specs which is brill as I would have had to get another pair for reading & wasn't looking forward to that expense.
Hope the dental stuff goes well Dave - I may lose - another tooth, but that's just the way it goes. All those years of smoking haven't helped me gums one bit - so it's all downhill:rotfl::(

Just been out to the house for a shower & boy does that feel wonderful - so I'm all clean & shiny - steam cleaned & smelling fruity Alfie!
