Back from a rare night out!
Only went into town to a hotel where Outlaws are staying, but we noticed how much warmer it was there in the evening. The meal was OK, but somewhat ordinary and small compared with the fare in the pubs around these parts. Pubs are definitely where we in the country do well, because the competition to attract the small population is so fierce.
Pleased to say DD2 is no longer about to become homeless, though there might be a week of sofa surfing at her cousin's place and temporary storage of furniture here. It will be a testing time for her, but even more so for her tropical fish. I'm not sure where they're going.... and their 25l water containers are full of heating oil!:(
Couldn't raise plumber today by phone, or Mr Rod. Our builder is on a short break too. However, kitchen co promised us an oven and hob next Wednesday, which is nice.....except I know they've had them since 24th August!

Still all quiet on the Daydream Front!
Lola looks very secure & content. Perhaps no one wants to wake her up....:) Her name is pretty close to that of our Lila, who, despite our good intentions, seems to be called 'Fluffy' most of the time! :rotfl:
I have just lit the wood burner, so in these parts at least, summer is oficially over. Did it ever really begin?
Car passed its MoT. Almost makes up for my bungle on the credit card.0 -
Posted earlier but laptop blue screened & lost the post.
Will be getting the new 'puter when we go in to collect it.
OH has a hospital appointment tomorrow after I phoned a manager & let them have my honest opinion on their management skills:eek:
She has been to USA twice at a cost of £18,000 to learn how to save money at the hospital. OH's operation should have happened last month if not before.
Been filling where the plasterer stuff was a bit hit & miss. Also freaking out about it heading into Winter & still no heating sorted out & the fact that OH will be recouperating for weeks in an unfinished cold house if his op goes ahead soon.
Had to go down the woods in the rain to have a think as everything seems so stressful.
Earlier this morning I met someone I know who just lost their partner to cancer & that was humbling as they are younger than I.0 -

Earlier this morning I met someone I know who just lost their partner to cancer & that was humbling as they are younger than I.
When I feel stressed, I remember the girl who I was seeing when I met DW, who's now in 'end of life care.' Or there's a couple of younger former colleagues with unlucky genes, in a not dissimilar position.
It's actually a good sign that I can stress over a plumber!
But your OH deserves better, and you need to be indoors with heat before too long now.0 -
Hope things get sorted soon Choille.
Lovely puppy pics CTC. DS1 s puppy is a little tinker.
Love the chair Alfie, my DD1 would kill for that as she wants a chair for her room she can squidge about in to read.

Evening all,
Choille, stress is a horrible, horrible thing..and some people can't see what their actions, or non- actions cause ..I just wish there was something we as a group of internet friends could do to help...if there is anything please ask, or message one of us, even if it is to vent off in private..
Piggies went to market, and were really well behaved.. Prices wernt that good tbh, but there were loads of pigs there today...2 blokes we were chatting to won the 6 of them ( 3 lots of 2), and asked to save them going back home for their trailer, would we take them home for them, they give us some money for doing it, so lunch was on them lol...they loved the fact they were outdoor reared, so they have our number, and fingers crossed, they will come direct the next time they want more pigs..
Also I had a phone call this morning about a job, so I start on Monday is only part time, and for the moment its only for a few weeks, so this will fit in great and I know we will have x amount of money coming in each week..( was panicking solely relying on eBay income)...so there is a light at the end of the tunnel..as my old friends says, its always darkest before the Dawn...
Luceille I forgot to ask how did OH meeting go??Work to live= not live to work0 -

Do you remember it was record breaking,y hot early on this year? And so dry, have you known such a dry time SW? Your knowledge is longer than mine

well ive got the chair !:j
mum and I set off and ended up [it seems as usual] up single track forest roads where the sat nav has a nervous breakdown. never saw a soul to ask where the hell we were ! ponies stood in the road don't help when not enough room even to get round them so ended up arm waving to shoo them past car. they were obviously used to this and SLOWLY moved on.....
we sat at a multi junction of gravel tracks and spied beneath a blackberry bush the tail end of the given address... mum hoiked open an iron field gate and we crept up this track not sure if we were in the right place still ! a lovely arm waving lady greeted us only to apologise for a few dog hairs on the chair !! right up my street...:D
its a beast of a chair... I managed to drag/push/shove it into the lounge and ended up rearranging things but its in situ and im well chuffed..
mum actually said just now that "bonfire night is soon " and seemed to glance at said chair..:o0
