Last day of my week off :(

I'm toying with asking about a unpaid sabatical for 3 months or so. I 'dropped out' for 12 months back in 2002, actually do to a full time MSc, so not being 'at work' wouldn't bother me as such. Maybe just a pipedream!

Aquarium is now 90% of what I hoped for when thinking about getting fish, so that'll do me for a good while and I can stop tinkering, let it settle and keep an eye on the plants.

No large specimen fish, but 11 danios and 6 tetras, none of which will exceed 5cm. That's enough livestock for me...

The bogwood with the two anubias tied on is actually held to the back of the tank by three suction cups, the anubias need to be close to the light.

Thanks Dave they really are massive now, when do they get pruned back? They are still laden with fruit so I am guessing when the fruit drops?

Yes, once the fruit have been picked; any time in autumn. :)

Great, cutting them back will make that part of the garden much neater so I am glad they can be tamed :D

Lucielle - you can come & live in the caravan any time what so ever.

I think this re-mark stuff is a scam. ope that DS2 gets where he wants to,but sometimes it takes a few tries at different stuff. I do hope that the show has gone really well. You all deserve a great break.

Rummer - you can cut the bushes down to ground, but they will only fruit on old wood I think, but they do need taming. If you cut them the cuttings take easily ie for your allotment - shove them in water. The fruit make excellent jam & freezes really well if you don't have the time to jam it just now - worth picking. You can make really good jam from frozen fruit just remember to weigh it & write the weight on the bags - I speak from experience - having not done that in the past!

The base of the bushes really like a potash feed - if you have a wood burner, not coal, they will really appreciate a shovelful of wood ash about their base.

Hope that your pipe dream becomes a reality IHS. It would be great if that happens. I'm sure that this will come to you if you really want it to.

Watching a film about flesh eating sheep - well OH is - dreadful.....I hate TV.

DW has a taste for violent programmes, which I don't share, hence my tendency to escape into the office and the 'puter. ;)

Now the broadband has improved, I find I can watch TV here too. :p

Hope the show goes well for you, lucielle. :)

This morning, it's the village Big Breakfast, when just about everyone goes to the hall for a slap-up, unhealthy meal, any time between 9am. and 1pm. Yes, being Devon, hog's pudding is there in the mix :D, but so is black pudding, for the 'furreners.'

    Flesh eating sheep lol...

Prob off to buy an electric cooker today, to go along side the multi fuel one my mother has bought us...

And then might go and have a look at floor tiles again.. Before making us minds up on what to do..

Will be glad when October comes, as this is when eBay picks back up....

Thanks for the info on the black current bushes, as this will be helpful for me too, will try and make loafs of cuttings to try and sell next year..

Alfie, LIR, hope you are OK, as it sounds as though you got loafs going on lately

CTC we recently bought a new washer from a website called marks electrical, just google it. The price was so good in comparison to anywhere else, so worth a check? Super fast delivery too. We also paid £25 and that was for disconnecting the old one, taking it away and fitting the new one.

I'm painting a bathroom and toilet today. Weather is awful, very heavy rain and grey

Lap top on the blink so I may go absent without leave.

Looked at new ones as it seems this one could crash at any time. We've had it a while. I seem to be out of date with iPads, tablets, smart phones - don't know a scooby about these things, but picked a new computer & OH will get a A3 printer/scanner as old printer has given up & lives in the trailer awaiting it's final resting place.

    Dull here & showery.
