FK - am very envious over the hot tub.....we had one for ten years and I loved it, although DH was never as keen but then he was the one that always ended up changing the water, topping up the chems, cleaning it out etc ;)

Ours was also under a pergola with a sail strung across the *roof*, fairy lights, lights set into the decking etc which all looked very magical when lit up. The hot tub had colour changing LED lighting too......I'm getting all nostalgic now as we included ours with the sale of our house last year and I really miss it - but DH said as we'd already moved it from our two previous houses as great expense (it weighed a tonne empty!), that he wasn't prepared to do it again :(

Am trying to persuade him we need one of those rustic wooden ones with woodburner-type heater - they have no jets, but I rarely switched on the masses of jets we had anyway - but he's yet to be convinced it's worth the hassle......

I'm sure you'll love it - just be careful with books.....DS managed to drop one of his A level coursework books into ours whilst revising en plein air :rotfl:

Gardening has always been my therapy too. I know when I was in a similar position, IHS, gardening or walking in the countryside made everything more bearable.

Those were the things my folks most enjoyed too.

Thinking positive thoughts for your Mum, Dad and you, whatever the future brings. :)

They're fascinating, but don't go on a cold day like we did! :o

Epic grass cut this morning. And Jerusalem artichokes finally planted. Its a worryingly big bed of them, far bigger than I had before, just for ten tubers. I guess that's what happens when you follow instructions on planting distances huh? So huge are the distances between We put two huge barrows of wood chip on top for weeds. If we were better organised would be good place for radishes etc, but we're not. Three feet between rows. Sheesh.

Also, instructions say to remove flower buds. One of the nicest things about them is the flowers. I was thinking of maybe removing flowers of one in two? I've never, ever heard of people worrying about j. Arts establishing, lol, but I'd rather have loads of them than lots of other weeds!!!

gorgeous day here but a tad windy !! been to the bootsale to look... got some nice cushions for the garden furniture BUT im still not convinced I like it ... as LIR would confirm I like a mish mash of seating [old house] and although this is a totally opposite style house it seems too posh !! so I may bay it all [ would pay for my holiday ??] I would no doubt get what I actually DO want quite quickly....
I will get a pic and see what you think !

    afternoon all,

stayed up the ranch last night, and I didn't wake up until 11.30am. which is never, ( unless I am up the ranch in the caravan lol) must have needed it, but then I feel tired all day lol..

come home now to make a beef dinner, ready for when hubby comes back down from the ranch, and then back up there..

IHS..... don't every say you feel like a silly billy, people react diff to emotional things/times.. no two people are the same when it comes to stress and grief... it sounds as though you have been on an emotional roller-coaster with your parents recently.

How many chairs does it come with? That might impact selling price? Good time to sell though :).
