morning peeps...:D well winds gone, suns out so im diving in the garage before it changes !
glad you got the challenge of collection over CTC..
FK .. ive noticed via friends that a kitchen "fix" is better over and done with. trouble is workmen/builders prefer to start and finish with all item on site. more cost effective cos if you intend to "do some" it takes a lot of co-ordinating to not do something that wont fit with what they need to do. tends to lead to long waits as pulling trades out for small now and then jobs is harder and costly. just from what ive seen.. [im not referring to total refurbs of a property, just kitchens] as LIR knows re bathrooms there can be all sorts of spanners in the works and if builders are booked elsewhere it can cause chaos.. of course if you can manage with bits and bobs done as and when ....p.s. have you checked your oil levels before going to garage ?
my geese have settled down now with the double fence except STAN has discovered if he just runs at his softer fence he just somersaults over it and can have carte blanc of the whole garden...... he rather likes sitting next to the eagle owl who seems to like it too....
    right garage beckons :o

It didn't rain here till well after 3pm, so all the dire warnings of downpours were wrong and it proved quite a reasonable day.

Our builder decided it was too risky to work outside, however, so with him indoors + the electricians, it all got a bit busy and I found it impossible to focus on anything.:( Then, just before lunch, the builder knocked over a full bottle of knotting, which smashed on the utility room floor and coated our new units in brown gunge!

We managed to save the units. The floor, being porcelain tiles, survived unscathed, but it was touch & go for a while. At that point I was really glad we'll not be seeing too many more workmen after Thursday......

I disappeared to the polytunnel in the afternoon ! :p

Howdens' Man turned up today, not only to check on our thoughts re the kitchen his mate agreed with us last week, but also to buy another dozen eggs. :D

"Can't get them like this in many places," he commented, and being the rep, he gets around the whole area.

We are stringing him along a bit, being in no great hurry. When the price is right....;)

I had a friend [long gone now] who unfortunately looked on her contents insurance as a cash cow.. she decided one day to "accidentally" splatter hair dye? over her "old" real wood kitchen units proudly boasting to me she'd get a new kitchen.... I tried to reason that she was an idiot but I was shot down... the insurance company pointed out to her that they were not covered by her contents .... her husband was furious with her [he worked away] and admist her other "ploys", they divorced within the year... :o :rotfl:

T'was pretty bad here too, but the bedroom we're in currently, and the one we'll have eventually, are both sheltered from the worst, so we didn't hear a lot.

I'll go out in a minute and see if everything's still there!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I hesitate to ask Dave not wishing to remove all doubt and appear to be a complete ninny, but what is knotting?

Wind woke me up too at about 3am and it wasn't from eating too many beans :D

Even windier than Sunday - when my mini greenhouse with my sweet pea seeds and fuschia plug plants all got blown halfway accross the garden. Mr BD and I got soaked trying to save them.

What I managed to save is now in the shed, waiting for the wind to calm down.

See this plant theatre on Amazon lightning deal - I must resist.....http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009MVMW5O/ref=gb1h_tit_c-2_8707_866a65fc?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_t=701&pf_rd_s=center-new-2&pf_rd_r=122816GB884GF7RBFJMY&pf_rd_i=20&pf_rd_p=577138707
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
