    How are you today phoebe?
    Thinking of you.

Heavy frost here this morning but at least its sunny.

Mr BD is still confined to his bed with daft as a brush lurcher keeping him company. :( Our long planned trip to Wales will have to be cancelled if Mr BD doesn't improve by Friday morning. Dang I knew I shouldn't have saved a bit of money and booked the hotel on a non-refunable basis. Obviously it was tempting fate more than fate could resist. :(:(:(

Got a T*sco order coming this morning - with a new supply of Lemsip (just in case the three year out of date stuff doesn't do the trick) - capsules and powder - belt and braces approach ;)

Hate the new BBC News website. Hate the new MSE forum. Both look 'orrible on my lappy. Bah humbug.......

Hi BD - Not feeling too bad, thank you :) x Guess I'm just a bit stunned as the news came as rather a shock.....DH and me really thought she'd be here for a good few years yet, although as it happened she went out like a light same as her mum and brother.....

Thanks Dave, FK, LIR et al for your messages too x

BD, forgot to say hope Mr BD is feeling better soon and that your Wales trip doesn't have to be cancelled ;)

Hope that was the right wall Dave ;)

Anyone done that thingy on the BBC website as to where you would be happiest living? Apparently my personality type would be happiest in the Somerset Levels :D

After last year, I don't think many people currently living on the Somerset Levels are that happy living there!

It was one area we totally avoided, despite the dual temptations of prices and fishing. ;)

I did the thingy. It said I'm pretty good where I am, though it said I'd be slightly better off in Exeter. I'd need to be, financially! :(

Yes that's the right wall, and the one behind with the door in it is next. :D Then it's just one more wall inside that room, to reveal the 'priest hole' we created last month. I hope we don't find the electricians in there; thery're bl**dy elusive right now! :rotfl:

Edit: How is Mr BD? Will he make it for the weekend in Undy?

Yes, my Dad passed away unexpectedly a few years ago, and it took me quite a while to actually 'process' what had happened. Found it very difficult to quieten my mind so I could rest - the combination of practical stuff to do and the emotional fallout left me in an exhausted tizz. I'd say it is a time to accept support that is offered, you are likely to need it.

Thanks for asking about Mr BD phoebe and Dave. Unfortunately I seem to have overestimated the healing powers of Lemsip :o It made him feel a little better yesterday, but this morning he is worse rather than better :(:(:( So the trip to Undy has to be cancelled. :(:(:( Daft as a brush lurcher is in heaven though having spent days on the bed with Mr BD, so at least he is happy.

Dave I do wonder if part of the training of electricians, plumbers, builders and the like is supplied by the SAS in covert operations. Even when they are on site they seem to have a alarming capacity to disappear without a trace and then 'go dark' on a secret mission down the road.

Good to hear that in the view of the BBC you are happy where you are Dave ;) I've got no plans to move to the Levels, well, not until my webbed feet are more developed that is :o:o
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

You're having our last night. :D

It'll be good later, like it is here, but probably still blowing a hooley. :)

I think it always comes as a shock, even when it's expected. I've been thinking of you over the last few days, and will continue to do so. Lot of organising to do for you.

Know just what you mean about not being able to quieten your mind. We weren't helped by the fact that Mum had been put on the Liverpool Care Plan, and they didn't ask us, first we knew was OH and DD2 went to visit and they told them then. I really felt (and still do) that it would have been better to telephone and let us know at the time. They also promised to get in touch after as part of their so-called bereavement service. They never did. So much for Arrowe Park Hospital. This is over 7 years ago now, and it still smarts.

As to where to live... Here's what I posted elsewhere:

My best place is West Dorset, and I'd be 60% happy there.

Worst is South Holland at 46%

Liverpool scores 53%, and best nearby place is Wirral (boo hiss!) which only gains me 1% over Liverpool. I hate the Wirral, spent the unhappiest years of my life there.
Hmmm, its grey and grim here :(

Been sunny since first thing here in Bwlchtocyn, but there's what looks like a serious amount of cloud coming over from the northwest. Wind dropped for a bit, but think it's increasing again. Think might fill up some more seed trays with old compost and put outside to get the next showers. (the old compost is somewhat dried out)

You must be allowed to grump - it's hooman right! :naughty:

I would grump too, if I could be bovvered. All the fetching, finding and carrying for the builder is wearing me out. I'm so relieved DW is back now to take some of the pressure off! :D

Mind you, even collecting her was stressful. Got a text while cleaning out chickens. Could I pick her up at Junction 23 in just over an hour? That's 50 miles!!!

    I did it. :o:o:o

Then we went to B&Q, where we certainly had to do the Q bit.
Some bright spark had shut all the 'normal' check outs to 'encourage' us consoomers to use their new self-check-out.

No way! If there's one thing we won't do, it's use the self check outs...anywhere.:p So, we went to the returns desk where we waited, and waited, while some poor bloke returned about a dozen different light bulbs......

Behind us, a little queue formed. Other people who seemed to want a 'real' till. After a while, one man became very agitated and began waving a table lamp, pointing at us and shouting, "These people have been here ages!"

At that point, they opened a real till and served....him! :rotfl:

I wasn't too bothered. I'd already nearly thrown a wobbly in the paint isle, where a woman's 3 kids' arguing totally drowned the discussion we were trying to have. I turned, about to deliver my own salvo of verbal invective, when I saw Mum had no hair at all, and she wasn't a skinhead type.

Took the wind right out of my sails.....:(

It's been an OK day. :)
