IHS your flowers always look so well cared for. :A
Managed to get in a wee bit of gardening myself today, making one delphinium into about a dozenand taking a host of very late hardwood cuttings.:o Well, the latter have two chances....
Looking around, there's all sorts of things I can multiply-up for this local market thing....;)
Hope your late moulter makes it OK, Better Days. I'm just slightly worried that heating her up and then putting her out soon afterwards might cause a bit of a shock to her system. I know it's a fine balance how long to keep individuals away from their 'flock,' but we've done it for two or three days with no ill effects.0 -

Well all I've done today is try & list stuff on the bay & feed the sheep.
Must be a bit of a thaw on as the water pipe is grumbling.
Lovely flowers IHS - My hyacinths are about three inch shoots. I have got them outdoors.
Sounds a bit ominous Alf.
Just watching Winter watch & the owls are lovely - eagle owl.0 -

We put her out half an hour before dusk so hopefully she wont have got too cold again before she toddled back into the coop, she certainly looked brighter and the other chickens weren't picking on her like they were before I bought her in.
Mr BD said that when he went to shut up the coop she was snuggled up with one of the other chickens which will help overnight. I'll keep an eye on her tomorrow and bring her in again if necessary, and try for longer as you suggest. I did wonder about the temperature differential, it's difficult to know what to do for the best.
Umm, I could put her in the old rabbit hutch, it will be more sheltered, more space to move around than the cat carrier and I can put the heat pad in too. Forecast is cold for all week, so she is going to need a little bit of extra TLC for a few more days yetIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Bits of frog and sole do come away. This is no bad thing
There is no cartilage or that type of stuff in that region. The bones that could rotate and stuff aren't that shape at all. I'm going for sole and a bit of frog tbh.
When checking feet make sure every time you are getting a good sniff and nothing smells thrushy or or manky in any way, and check for holes and stuff into the frog, check frog texture, and look at texture of foot all over, integrity of sole, thickness/ evenness of white line etc etc.
Tbh picking out feet is something I only do when checking feet/ working. Picking out takes seconds, a check takes......not a minute a foot but a bit longer than a quick pick.0 -
i do regularly check thier hoofs. mainly because of the 2 that are prone to lami. i know in an instance at a glance now if it looks like its "on its way" plus the farrier trims every 7-8 weeks even if its a sliver off. he checks them thoroughly. and he is good [even if his back gives jip from the mini's .... lol ]0

Lurking around CTC! Weather here still bordering on 0 to -2 which means no outside work for me apart from keeping the bird feeders topped up and de-icing the birds' water bowls!
Horrified to see that a large garden centre I was in yesterday have loads of dahlia and begonia tubers on sale, seed potatoes and mini summer bedding plants. Surely this is earlier than usual? No way could I plant begonias or dahlias until April at the earliest and even then they would have to be kept frost free.0 -

No idea how I've coaxed the orchids to flower!
I have never been successful with orchids but my sister's bloom year on year.
My hyacinths this year are totally stuck. They are now indoors in a cool room and just doing nothing. Might need to bring into the warmth but there is not much sign of flowers forming.0
