I would need a pneumatic drill to plant anything.0

'Azza' these garden centres are crafty.. as by now people are thinking, and itching to start on their gardens etc.. so the likelihood is people who will buy those tiny little plants, will be back later on, when those ones die, they will be back for more, lol..Work to live= not live to work0

its called selling EVERYTHING..(well unless it is specifically going to be used up the ranch) to get the pennies in... I need to sell higher priced items, rather than the few quid stuff I am selling on the bay..
It does need a dam good clean, and a little repair.. that has been with me via 3 business moves lol....
Also going to sell a huge vintage linen welsh flag ( 4ft by 9ft) that hubby has been hanging onto lol..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Dare I say it, we've had a very spring-like day today, with little wind and plenty of sunshine!
:o
The birds were singing away like mad, so perhaps it's not only people in garden centres who are fooled by a bit of clement weather!
Years ago, we used to prepare for the 'fake spring' by growing snowdrops, hellebores and a few other evergreen things, just for a pitch we had in a large Yellow Book garden. It opened briefly for hellebore and snowdrop weekends in February.:)
Then we would quietly go into 'hibernation' again till May! :rotfl:
At least the plants we sold were hardy things, so we didn't feel guilty.0 -
Well, we have survived the second onslaught of the electricians, though they left early to attend an emergency where a local plumber had cut through some cables. (I got his name and crossed him off the list!:rotfl:)
Things are rattling along apace, so now we're preparing to knock down one of the internal living room walls. If that goes well, we choose our moment and pull the ceiling down too!
I suppose it will be cold for a couple of days whenever we do that, but it must be done before March, so I have a Plan. If we place 8' x 2' polystyrene batts and some old doors across the joists, we won't be entirely open to the roof space. I'm kidding myself of course, but there's always this office, which is virtually sorted now....:D0 -
Milder here today than yesterday but we did have some snow although it didn't settle for long. Grey, miserable and wet day. Put the moulting chicken in again for a while to warm up. She is noticeably better than yesterday with much indignant squawking.
The work was finally done on our CH system and I can now control the HW separately from the CH and control it all via smart phone and online :cool::cool::cool::cool:http://www.amazon.co.uk/SALUS-IT500-Internet-Controlled-Thermostat/dp/B00FKRS514
The two chaps who did the alterations were very good, no fuss, just got on with the job.:D:D It was all a bit much for old dog though, she got all confused, barked at them repeatedly and even barked at Mr BD when he came home.
Am considering ringing the vets and asking for some more gabapentin for her. Her neck problem has resolved, but she was much more comfortable generally while on the gabapentin. It is now very much a matter of quality of life for her - at nearly 15 she is a good age for a medium sized dog.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Made me giggle - visualised a long list written up in the plaster on one of your walls with vigorous striking through of those judged incompetent.:D:D
