Is your window in Dave? Hope so, cold again tonight.

Lots of good reviews. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

The people who were going to have that dog have pulled out.
I'm considering having him here until a home can be found or until alf can clear out the fluff ster. Have asked fir but he is out tonight. Gives him time to think about it. I know finding a local home will be really hard.0 -

Minus double figures here this morning. Down to /up to -9 at noon. Went over East & it was so glorious with the Mountains glistening...bought tyre chains out of LDLS for £20!
Barn owls are gorgeous. I saw a small one the other week on our gate post. We do have them here which is really lovely. We also have long tailed tits coming daily to the feeder with the blue tits & great tits - they hang out together.
Left a bag of shopping in a shop, just realised it when we got home - not perishables, but perishing annoying never-the-less.
Baby goat spied this morning down the road - so that's early. Earliest I've seen is the 17th Jan, so not far off.0 -
I saw pigeons at it today. So that's just a few weeks away til chicks are about and at it themselves.0

I believe pigeons breed all year round.
Goats, like deer can delay the growth of the feotus [sp?] in their womb, or even re-absorb it if things get really hard. Not abort it, but actually absorb it into their system. They have their kids & then almost exactly three months later they go back up the mountain/hill.0 -

The one's here don't celebrate Christmas.
They're right wee pagans.0 -
Destitution Road is a great name, choille,:) but that picture really highlights the climatic differences between the two ends of the country. Here, even the tops on Dartmoor haven't looked noticeably white yet.
We hit zero in the night, but it hasn't gone much below that. The windows/doors are in, and the gaps around foam-filled, so it's still tolerable in the house Better Days, despite no insulation above. We'll just have to keep the fires well revved-up, like they did in the good old days.
Electricians will get a bit of a frosty reception though. They should have done this last week. If they're good I'll forgive them, but if not, I won't forgive myself, or the person who recommended!
Mrs Dave is back, so I'm more cheerful.0
