It'll all get there in the end.
The trades play each other off. Blame the other & use any old excuse to go to another job!
Hope it isn't too cold for you.
Freezing here, cracking cold with no water & ice everywhere, but bright. We do have light.
Trying to go out to get some supplies aboard the good ship..
I'm finding ebay a bit slow CTC, but it is free listing so I should make the effort but I've loads listed as it is.0 -

I would.... if I could, and you certainly can. :A
We might put some in the our new e/s bathroom, currently part of the garage, when we get to it, but otherwise the floors here don't need work. Like everything, it depends on the amount of money left.
And that en-suite will be designed carefully, because there is still a possibility, however remote, that the rest of the garage might become 'habitable' one day. There is one-bed annex potential there, if we ever need it.0 -

They were here, ready to start, so that wasn't the issue. I'd rather they were that way than just going through the motions though. Seem a really careful company.
And I know it'll be OK in the end.
Window guys are here now and there's 10' hole in the living room wall, but sun's in a cloudless sky, so not too bad. Could've been a gale and rain!0 -
We're decided on underfloor now. Its just worth it. Our layout doesn't leave us much wall space and we have furniture and I dislike rads under windows ( I like long curtains.)
Its just going to be worth it for us, It also makes the expense of stone floors in the big cheese room worth it IMO, as I think it will work like a storage heater.0 -
choille.
as its mainly clothes/textiles that I sell, I try and gauge what people would buy at certain times of the year...
Davesnave.. after the woodburner guy said what he done, and how now his flagstones are toasty warm to walk on when he gets up in the morning, even if his fire has gone out.. we compared it to like walking on the rocks on a beach in the summer lol..so that done it for me...Work to live= not live to work0 -

....And you have air source, so a good incentive.
My BiL has underfloor, so i know how good it is, but it needs fitting at the right time, which is not just after having external doors fitted! :rotfl:
Had we not been moving so many internal walls and living in here as well, we'd have considered it.
As it is, it's already like the Tennessee Valley Dust Bowl today, as we try to sort out a mis-match in levels. The previous owners liked having a ramp in their hallway, but we think a small step will work better with tiles. Of course if the builders who built the extension hadn't just guessed......! :mad:0 -
For got to mention earlier, we saw a beautiful barn owl this morning, on the hedge opposite our place. It was dark and our road was still quiet and it was probably the best owl siting I have had since moving here.0

Lucky, lucky person lir; have not seen a barnie close to since I was a child.
Dave, Sam is lovely. Think this is the first time you have posted without "disguise"? Hope he keeps on sleepinh well.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I used to have races down the road in the car with a barn owl and another sort of owl where I last lived.. I really miss that area a lot in many ways. The owls and that road are definitely one of them.
.
Seeing an owl this morning felt ....decent. A bit more like 'home'.0 -
that sounds amazing LIR... I can only hear the owls 'hooting' to each other at the ranch... have seen a couple of birds of prey on the land, and flying around, and the lovely geese flying and honking as they go by.. cant wait o see and hear them in the summer.
at the moment we are just thinking of having under floor heating in the kitchen part of the house, BUT, before we make a final decision we might consider putting it in the other fromt room, which will prob end up being the living/slob out room.. as the floor will need to be taken up and re-done with a dp--- whatever it is damp coarse thing lol..Work to live= not live to work0
