They look real Alfie - be a lot less work I bet.

I had to bring a lamb in as it looks a bit weak & wane. It's al snuggled in the shed with a load of hay & looks remarkably content compared to the way it was at lunch time. Heavy blizzards here & wind that would cut the face off you.

One of our posties who lives a few miles away has three very large trees on top of his roof according to OH who went passed there today.
how many sheep do you have to look after ? can they get shelter ? [this is being asked by an animoged wuss ;):o ]

I have about 30 - some being last years lambs.

The breeding females are in the field where the byre is. I did mean to get a shelter up in the near field but that has not happened. There's a couple of thick clumps of trees in two parts - one in a dip that they really can shelter in.
These are all hardy breeds - Hebredians, Shetlands etc. Just as well.
The lamb wasn't coming to the trough, so I was worried, but I think she'll be fine now, I'll just keep her in for a bit.

The winds still gusting out there.

I returned from the smoke, just in time to close-up the hen house and fetch some logs.:o

I would've made it earlier, but the new sat-nav sent me back on myself when I used it for a small detour I made through Herefordshire and Monmouthshire. I told it, "Go Home," because I thought it knew 'Home' is here. But it thought Brum was Home......

There was quite a bit of flooding in the Severn valley. :(

Here is a picture of us and grandson Sam. I'll delete it later, but similar ones are all over Farcebook, so what the hell...:D

He's a good lad; we all got plenty of sleep last night, especially him. :A

    What a lovely photo.

To be honest, most babies look pretty similar to me, like snowdrops, but they are all tagged & chipped these days, so no chance of someone nicking yours or the fairies swapping it for a changeling....

The piccie is OK now that I have cloned out the huge plastic Bounty Bag in the background. :( I dunno, you send your kids to Art College and they produce pictures like Auntie Edna's! :rotfl:

Lovely photo Dave, thanks for posting.

Sam looks very comfortable in Grandad's arms, happy days :D:D:D

Bliss here too, the heating was fixed last night and I left it on overnight to get the house nicely warmed up. All credit to the heating engineer who turned up at 8pm to fix it for me. After replacing the burner on Thursday it turned out the problem was actually the fire valve.

Also made me realise why my posture was so poor when I was growing up. I was cold 90% of the time and hunched up trying to keep warm. Swore I'd never live like that again. Mother would never accept that 'putting on another jumper' just doesn't work for everyone. All hail to central heating (and electric blankets):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I think last night was the coldest night we've had so far this winter. I didn't use the electric blanket though. I was wedged in place by husband, cats and a small whitefish dog who sneaks on the bed when the lights go out.

The plus side is bed warms up very quickly.
