Back home. Sheep fed & as an extra treat gave them a bucket of Brussel sprouts & cabbage too that came cheap out of Morrissons.
Rummer glad you are fine & keeping cosy. It's horrible out there, but slightly calmer than it was. Some trees down btw here & Inverness - snapped half way up trunks- incredible. Where we used to live - on a peninsular with no mains- all the windmills are down. That will costs a lot for them to fix - speaking from past experience.
Xdew x 2 = welcome. That sounds like a very exciting project ahead. Good for you taking the plunge. You can now join the Harpic Bunch - clean round the bend bunch!0 -

Hi all,
I have been lurking this thread for a few years now enjoying all your posts and trials along the way. Well we just this morning signed up to rent a 5 bedroom farmhouse on a 50 acre plot, 1 acre of that being ours to use with two large barns...... Ahhh im scared!
It's what our builder is doing, as he and his wife like having an acre or so, but they're both too busy for serious smallholding at present. They just tame whatever bit of the acre they can manage in a year.0 -

Is it dried seaweed supplement you give them?.
Dried & powdered. We are too far from the coast for the real thing....but there's a thought for the future!
Up and down the M5 today, looking at stuff for the build, but we should've stayed local for all the good it did. Got us out and about, though.
Good to see you're alive and baffing, choille!0 -
I use seaweed every three years. Put it on the beds in January & leave it to break down - when I had the hens they would pounce on it for all the leaping bug things that seem to inhabit washed up seaweed. Great stuff. Tried feeding it to the Shetlands & Hebredians, but they are too spoilt to make much of it - it makes the meat taste wonderful apparently0
