Looks pretty much like 'Hawkshead' to me, lir. It's the cultivar most modern whites have in their breeding, and it's hardy.
But there are thousands of fuchsias.
It was fuchsias that got me into flower growing. DW bought me 'Annabel' while we were out of our house after a serious fire in 1982. I stuck a few cuttings into a pot, put them into a wooden orange box, covered it with a sheet of glass, and I had a cold frame!
To my amazement, most of the plants rooted. After that, I was hooked!:dance:0 -

Lovely story Dave!(sorry about the fire though)
OH gave me a beautiful ornamental blue ceramic pot planted with lilies for my 50th.They lived on at the caravan until the bunnies ate them a few years later. But by then we had lots more pots and lots more plants... many eaten by bunnies too! Now we have gates on the decking, and we keep our pots up there. But it was gardening at the caravan that got me hooked. Did a little at old home in yard, when kids small, but it was very hit and miss. Though did have one brilliant year with lots of geraniums and lobelia in pots. Loved my little back yard, though nearly always a mess. Now love my garden, which is always a mess too! :rotfl:

I am soooo not looking forward to the clocks going back...Work to live= not live to work0 -
No gardening for me as yet today, may clear the rest of the dahlias after lunch and finish planting tulips if it stays bright. No heat in the sun now
.
Picked up some plant and garden sale items at Crocus and also Amazon warehouse deals, so they should arrive this week.
Spend most of Saturday having a purge of clothing and shoes, so off to the recycling centre with multiple bags today.0 -
I have to go furniture hunting because I need a specific piece of furniture with specific measurements. I find that a bit daunting. Gulp.
I'm not sure I've ever looked for something for a spot before. Gulp.0 -

I'm getting rid of items, either on one of the free sites or eBay, depending on whether I think they're saleable.
Oddly, I went out to measure the garage door so that I could look for a replacement on the Bay, and when I came back, there was a Freegle ad in my in-box for a garage door exactly the right size! It's about 20 miles away, which isn't bad. Owner hasn't replied yet. Said they wanted it gone asap, then contradicted themselves and added that they'd wait to see what responses came in before handing it over. :rotfl:
Quiet day here, or rather it would have been without Mr Dog's two mutts. He & his wife went out early and left them to bark for the day. Still, quite a treat for Mrs Dog, who usually doesn't go anywhere with him. Probably a family event, then.;)0 -
It was a gorgeous day today however awe spent it furniture shopping and visiting so no garden time was had
I am determined though to get out this week and tidy up the garden for winter.

hi all.... well days started dry
ended wet
the wind doth bloweth and the rain doth falleth.... the rivers here are very high  im well above but dont envy those close to the edge.. i bought some old cine film at a car boot a couple of weeks ago. got in touch with the film "professor" at a local university describing the tins and writing, asking if he had equiptment to look at them out of curiosity.. he has orgainsed a private viewing at the motor museums archive dept [have equipment and theatre] and wants to "bring some coleagues"..... now a long lost charlie chaplin film with a starting bid of £100,000 has not influenced me in the least to accept his offer ............;)

SERIOUSLY!!! you found/bought a CC film?? or are you winding us up lol...
been looking at wildlife ( ahem) cameras ready for when the fencers start putting the fencing up further up the lane, which will be out of view, and closer to peeps gardens... its hard to find something as there is no power up there, we did find this
http://www.spycameracctv.com/spycamera/invisible-ir-nightvision-hunting-cctv-camera
if we buy it, we might rig it up to by the caravan, so we can see what wildlife is roaming around us lolWork to live= not live to work0
