Daydream fund challenge part 4

I have been offered an exciting (and expensive) opportunity which has been a dream of mine since I was little so this weekend will be spent listing things on gumtree and looking over the household accounts. I have to make this happen as the chance is unlikely to come up again. Currently looking round the living room to see what I could live without :rotfl:
That coupled with endless school trips and other adventures for my DD mean that I am going to be firmly in the frugal camp for the foreseeable future. Financially tight but exciting times ahead
Now I am off on a boards adventure for hints and tips…...Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Ooooh! How exciting! :j
I can't remember what expensive dreams I had as a child, except going on the school skiing trip to Switzerland, which I knew better than to ask about!
Now I think my knees would be the thing which might stand between me and skiing.
Yesterday, I had one little bit of good news, discovered by Ron when he was chipping render away. My man-cave, now christened 'Dave's Den,' has a proper DPC and the bottom bit is built in thermal blocks. This is odd, as the top part was constructed from secondhand single glazed windows and perspex!0 -
lol..I like that 'Dave's Den' that's my hubby's name too, but he is never called that... its the welsh name for Dave...
or he is called the 'old git' which is most of the time now lol
Edit... if you want me to remove the above, let me knowWork to live= not live to work0 -

No, I also answer to 'old git, ' but they won't let me write what I answer here!
DD 1 has finally got her basic kitchen installed, only 2.5 months after moving in, and she's just told us the washing machine works. Unremarkable, except that it was my Dad's machine, which last did a wash in 2005.:rotfl:0 -
I am so impatient :rotfl: I listed things on gumtree this morning and not a message
It all needs to go so that I can get the pennies rolling in and claim the space back!
We will also be continuing with some DIY as OH is off this week and there is as always plenty to do! The people round the corner from us are gutting their house and there has been an endless stream of workmen. I am slightly envious as I am the worker here :rotfl: It would be lovely to go away for a few days and to come back to a transformed house. I am beginning to think our house will never be done that it will just be one long endless (expensive) project!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
I took a picture of my white fuscia earlier. No idea what it is. White and hardy I am afraid was sufficient for me to know.
After a grey morning, a blazing day, we now have heavy rain. Not great weather to do what we'd decided to do next...put wires on the wall of the utility. The Passion flower we cannot remember when we planted should of course had wires waiting, but , well. It didn't. As it was there needs more work there, a skim over door frame and some holes filling in,....
Also hoping to get that last winter clematis planted out, they are as happy as Larry now, one I thought had kicked the bucket at the front as appeared healthy and happy and one I have put by the other back door has shot away this week.
So hopefully this last one, seeming much perkier, will similarly make an astonishing run when planted out.0 -
Not been around here for ages - too much going on. Old home has gone up for sale Monday, so far 3 viewings, Viewer 2 (Thursday) has second viewing on Monday. More detail on Nice People 13 thread.0
