hi all.... yep , started white frost here and sprinklings of frosty flakes in the air. not quite snow...... beautifull to look across the fields on 3 sides of me.. feels like my house is the snowman stood up on the top.:D ..................... just off to break ice on hoss's water and chuck out some hay for em.. have a good/safe day y'all..

About -5 c here, first thing. One dead hen, but she was on her way out anyway.

When they don't come over for corn, you know they've not long for this world.

Izzy spent most of the night on the roof. She goes up and can't get down, which is a great game, but not in a hard frost maybe! Might give her pause for thought in future.... and there again.....both of them have been rolling in the icy grass this morning, having found my patch of catmint! :rotfl:

Just been spreading rock-salt on my path, no thaw in sight at all - there's about 1cm of ice on a bucket of water I left outside.

I can stand on the ice in the troughs here.

evening all ive done all my jobs for today and am just settling down to paint and "pebble dash" a dollshouse ! i put a couple of bales of hay out for hoss's and sheep this morning and took about 1 inch of ice off the troughs . then i decided to open up the bottom field to them so they ignored the hay ive had to shut off the corralll bit cos there was a sheet of ice over it [even tho its got the grilling down in there i thought it a bit unsafe for them ] it needs a french drain put in all around the area [new years job] they have another big shelter in the bottom field so sheep will get in there.... the horses were all kicking up thier heels and speeding round he bottom 5 acre field, i held my breath they didnt slide over as grass was very frosty....:( they soon settled. trouble is the ice packs into thier hooves and its like they have skates on !!:eek: right im back to my painting ........ have a good evening.:D
