Can I join please?
I already have a car fund for emergencies and eventually a new(er) car which I put £100 a month but I keep having to borrow from it when things go wrong, so I would like to start my EF and have it building up alongside the car fund.
Here goes!April GC 9th-7th may £0/£3200 -

I haven't posted for a while. Currently have £137 in the emergency fund. Did have quite a bit more, but work was so quiet over Christmas it was needed to make sure we got through the last few months without using the credit card. Work has picked up again, but I work a month in advance of pay, so it's only now starting to show. The next few months look good, though, so fingers crossed I will get it back up in the next few months!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500

OMG this has to be the longest month ever!
Still 2 days to pay day ........
On a more positive note - I had £36 left in my spending account :j (and have £8 in my purse which will last me)
I've left £16 there to start next month off and took the other £20 out yesterday.
It'll probably have to go towards the house works:(, rather than a nice treatbut hey ho - £20 of the £250 found

Congratulations/commiserations to all EF savers/spenders. I just love this thread, so motivating and supportive. Thanks everyone, especially patman for starting it:beer:
Not had much success with adding to my pot recently, despite 2 stints of directory delivery work. The wages haven't arrived/cleared in my account yet and I had quite a lot of up-front petrol/parking costs, not all of which will be reimbursed:mad:. Will still have something to add though, just don't know when.
Have done a few tabletop sales to get rid of clutter and raise some cash and ideally I intended to add all these profits to my EF, as well as car boot profits once the season gets into full swing. Sadly, general household expenses, family problems which resulted in unforeseen need for huge amounts of extra petrol:( and replacing small but essential electricals means so far I've had to use this extra income for day-to-day expenses. Not ideal but I think from the end of this month I should be able to start saving again.
So, nothing concrete to report today:o but I live in hope!0 -
Welcome eveie189 you are member #100.
I'm really glad that my current job is weekly-paid as I don't have enough money to survive month to month. Once the 1st of the month is out of the way, I can look to see what change I can move across to the savings account that holds my EF.
Spent last night bringing YNAB up to date. Can't believe that I had not done this since early Dec. last year.Never Knowingly Understood.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to eveie189. What a horrid day but perfect for staying in and making it a NSD :j
So #94 reporting in with a slight increase to the EF of £5. Total now is £213.09. Edging closer to my goal of £250 by the end of the month. All depends what happens tomorrow at the local garage because I think a new car tyre might be in order. This will mean taking the cash I have saved instead of putting it on a credit card which will make a change.
Enjoy the rest of your SundaySPC9 #5070 -
Spent yesterday afternoon smashing the concrete cladding of my local Scout HQ in readiness for new cladding to go on.
As today was very windy and wet, I have great admoration for the 3 volunteers who turned-up today and finished-off removing the rest and starting to stuff the frame with fibreglass insulation.Never Knowingly Understood.
