How is everyone getting on with their Emergency Fund?
I'm up to £17 and some change.....so I'm really pleased with that...Hopefully can put a little extra in next Week...
I'm still plodding along, and by that I mean waiting until Payday! I have £33.73 in my bank account to last me until Friday. Which should be doable as I have £12 in my purse too. I will be working all week, so there should be no spends! But I also need Christmas presents! So I should try to use this money first for some gifts. I will probably end up rounding down the account this afternoon and putting the 73p into the emergency account! :rotfl::mad: the next emergency has hit.
Pulling down the ceiling revealed that it wasn't just the shower grout letting out water. The toilet also has a leak (not soil pipe thankfully). En suite toilet is now out of use until I can afford a plumber to take the toilet out, check where leak is coming from and fix (May just require a seal redoing).
It never just rains here
This is why we all need an emergency fund folks!!
Oh no, that's terrible Nintud. Hope when a plumber does look at it, that it's a cheap and easy fix. Hugs to you.Buffythedebtslayer wrote: »I keep thinking I have joined this.

Well Eyebright....any extra is extra....so don't worry if you can only put in a small amount to the Emergency Fund....To quote a rather large Supermarket - "Every Little Helps"
I've added another little bit to mine....just rounding down the Bank Account....Hoping to be able to put in a bit extra during the Week...0 -
Hi Everyone
Please can I join this challenge? I already have some savings (not sure how much at the moment) which I have been using as an emergency/pay off my loan early stash. I think a challenge like this will make me work harder and I would like to have the £1000 emergency and then seperately a sum to pay off my loan early.
Thank you for inspiring me so much!

Welcome to our new Members....
Ooooooh Eyebright....I definitely like the idea of splitting it into 1% chunks....so it's £10 per 1%? I'm not great at Maths!! LoLI think I'll go and add that to my Sig so I can keep track of the Percentages....Thanks for that....

Yup, £10 = 1%. I'm going to update my sig as well, so I can see easily how far I've got/got to go!
Made nearly £50 on ebay now, so will probably put £10 into my emergency account when I get home from work. Another 1% found!POAYDBX 2020 #? 20/4000

I don't mean to sound REALLY thick....but how do I work out what my exact percentage is that I have achieved? What is the calculation that needs to be done? I'm hopeless with numbers but I'd love to see exactly where I'm at....If you don't mind Eyebright
Right....off to my Placement for the day (I'm currently Training to be a Psychotherapist)...and then I have a new Job to go to tonight...it's a Job that I used to work in and they phoned me on Friday and asked me to come back as they need extra Staff for Christmas....but might last longer than that...so we'll see....
But today is going to be a long old day....I'll be leaving around 8.15am and won't be back home until about 10pm tonight...Still, it should be productive at the very least
See you all later on xXx Keep on Saving Ladies and Gents...xXx0 -
Eyebright...I've updated my Sig as I think I've figured out the Percentage thing....can you let me know if I'm right...Thanks!!0
