  • Great to hear you sounding so upbeat, patman:beer:

I've a bit to add to my EF total but my June accounting was chaotic what with everything else that seemed to be demanding my time. Loads of scraps of paper with barely readable sums scribbled on them that I need to go through:o. Will report back when I've got things organised but at least the money is available in various places to add to the pot and has definitely not been spent during June:j

I hope the sun is shining on you all today:T
  • Right, I've sorted all my bits of paper and have £73.94 from some small sales and money received from doing surveys in June to add to my EF. Not a mega amount for a whole month but every little helps and it's money I know I can afford to save towards a real emergency and not have to dip into it for such as groceries or petrol;). I like a nice round number so am tidying it up a bit to £74.56 which brings my EF now up to £575:j

I've several amounts claimed and somewhere in transit (cashback, survey cheque and money due from a few days leaflet delivery work in June) so things should look up a lot by the end of July:T

CBC that reminds me that I need to renew my contents insurance. I have had a good renewal quote, but will still try Topcashback to see if I can get some cashback.

Anyway, it has reached that time when I need to negotiate a new contract extension. However, I am not hopefull so have been applying for jobs over the last few days.

    Morning :)

I have had to dip in the emergency fund so now it stands at

    #184 695.25/1000 70%

I've made a note of this now for future occurrences so hopefully no more surprises!!

Its great that I had this money, where as before I would've panicked and put things on a credit card.. so I am happy

Thank you for starting this thread x
Debt Free - Now time to look to the future! :T
  • Please could I join? At the moment I'm aiming for an emergency fund of £1000. (I have £420 so far) When that's full I want to aim for 3 months income saved but that will most probably be a long while in the future!
  • Meezel, I truly empathise with the feeling of panic when a real emergency crops up with no funds to pay to remedy it:o. Being on a DMP with absolutely no lines of credit or credit cards it was mega-panic for me

Thanks to patman and this brilliant thread I feel so much more secure. There've been wobbles along the way when my whole EF has been wiped out:mad: but I know how important it is to have one so I set about building it up again asap:j

Have received £21 in my bank account from a survey site. Took several months to accrue but doing online surveys isn't exactly onerous and every little helps. Now been added it to EF, now standing at £596:j

Welcome to hermionesaver, who is #196. CBC, I know the feeling of being on a DMP. It is restrictive, but at least the debts are being dealt with.

Another £20 added to the pot. Got a nail in my car tyre...£207 later and my emergency car tyre fund is depleted!! Still that's what emergency savings are there for. ;)
Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!
