Yes... but this is what the mechanics of the scheme promotes.
To be fair to Morrison's, all of their staff that I spoke to were very calm and patient, and there was never a suggestion that I should not be wasting their time for 44p. I'm pretty sure I would have struggled to be that patient if it had been me.
On the downside, Morrison's have followed the mechanics of other Supermarkets' schemes. The upshot of this is that it requires trust on the part of the customer that the schemes are being operated fairly and competently. For me, this trust is immediately compromised because the scheme detail is obfuscated from the customer for no apparent reason. (This sort of thing simply encourages me to investigate - it is who I am).
But, at the end of the day, I am simply testing whether this trust is well-placed or not.0 -
If Morrisons ever manage to get into on-line delivery shopping I'd probably shop there all the time. Have been in store a few times in recent months and have to say the prices and range of items seem better than Tesco and Asda (Morrisions was one of the few places where it was easy to find palm-oil free bread).
On a side note; I used to think Tesco and Asda were pretty much the same but somehow Tesco seems to have gotten more expensive. I don't know what other people have found. If it wasn't for the on-line discount codes I probably wouldn't shop at Tesco.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
The last report I saw had the following order of prices...
Waitrose - Tesco - Sainsbury's - Asda - Lidl/Aldi - Morrison's
This is due to the effect of price matching at M.
New price matches...
M Saver Coleslaw salad - 30p (Matches at 24p)
Hovis Wheatgerm 400g - 75p (Matches at 65p with Aldi)0 -
This is one of the most complicated loyalty schemes ever.
I have to shop every week for 6 weeks to get £25 off. I I am 1 day out of sink I lose the whole £25. I have to keep the little bits of paper - even though the shops I have done is recorded via my card.
I am also not convinced that all of my points are being recorded. I have had bonus points plus extra points on some in store stuff, but only get £5 every other week. I KNOW they owe me about £4 every week on the price match!
Once I have the £25 Christmas bonus I will not be going back to Morrisons. The rfuit and veg price goes up every week. The 3 for£10 meat is the same choice every week. The bread is dearer than Asda and Tesco.0 -
From the T&Cs ( so buying a gift card means you are not spending the minimum qualifying £15 )
Our Price Match Guarantee does not apply to the following items:
I think "Our Price Match Guarantee does not apply to the following items:" means they will not be price matched, that does not mean they can't be included in the total spend.0 -
The saga continues...
Another week, a bit more shopping from Morrison's, and another suspected price match failure.
So, now I know to phone Customer Services to get the whole thing sorted. Except, I did that and the chap on the other end said he couldn't help, and that they don't go through customers' receipts and check/correct matches...
How weird. Maybe it has something to do with me calling on a Saturday last time.
I can see me retreating back to Aldi...0 -
Apparently, there are two Call Centres - the one in Coventry can't help, and the one in Newcastle can.0

And the number for the Newcastle one is 01274 268 960.
I can confirm a price match on NuMe 50% Fat Soft cheese (Herbs & Garlic) 90p - match with Aldi at 49p
(This wasn't the item I had a query with - that was Wafer thing Roast Chicken Slices 400g, which matched a couple of weeks ago, but not yesterday).0 -

Are you sure? That's a Bradford area code.0 -
Definitely right.
Morrison's HQ is in Bradford, so it must route internally off this number.0
