  • Morning ladies

I have a Uu: Elemis frangipani shower gel, this used to be a real favourite of mine but now I find it quite cloying, it's funny how our tastes change isn't it, will not be buying again.
I also got the l'occitane email so have sent one of them to OH so he can pick it up for me

    Happy pampering xo

maddiemay - ouch to the thumb
Willowbee - hope you feel better soon.

I have a couple of uu

Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlilly Bath & Shower Gel 50ml.
Avon Clearskin Professional Face Scrub - nice and gentle but still scrubby, a lovely menthol hit and it has salicylic acid.

Ren Frankincense Night Cream 3ml - WBA
Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

    Fashion on the Ration 28/66
  • UU - Body Shop Body Butter Satsuma (finally! been using this for months). Would buy again, I like the consistency and it keeps my skin moisturised for ages. Also love the scent although I'm just about getting bored of it now. I have loads of other creams to get through before I need to buy more anyway...

had an email from Occitanne offering me the chance to send 3 friends a gift coupon, did one to DH so going to pick it up tomorrow, had a unique code so cannot pass on but think I got it because I liked them on fb,think there were 4 mini items so not bad

Ooh I received that on my work email and deleted it. Have returned to work today and had a few to work through! Have retrieved it from Trash though and sent one to MrM so I can sneakily get the freebies and have sent the other two to two other friends. Thanks rosemary.

I also picked up the Marie Claire for the L'Occitane hand creams. Love these to put in hampers for my friends and sister at Christmas. Did intend on only buying three - the original shea, new rose and new vanilla ones (do not like the sound of the lime one) however when I got to the Sainsbury's counter there was a further offer to save £2.00 when two mags bought so bought another vanilla one. I will keep one and find someone else to give the other to at Christmas.

I shopped for a new bronzer today but that in itself turned into a massive headache; I am so pale, I can't seem to find anything that's light enough :( Ended up at the Estee Lauder counter and had the young man apply their lightest one -- I still have orange stripes down my cheeks  Can anyone assist?! I looked in Boots, Superdrug, TBS, John Lewis… I don't want shimmer. I have been using Bourjois chocolate bronzer but even in the light shade it's just a tad too orangey. HELP, please!!

    I use this:-

in Fair and it is really subtle. Don't get any shimmer. I'm not sure if you will have time to order it before you go away though (sorry, can't remember your departure date). Have just had a quick mooch on E**y and there are some travel sizes that are really cheap.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

just realised oct is going to be an expensive month - the boots and benefit advent calendars come out
and the mac rocky horror collection comes out at the end of the month - need to be quick in ordering as its sold out pretty quickly in the US thank god my bonus should be paid this month :j

feelunique.com have a 15% code on benefit which is running today and tomorrow. Don't know if the advent calendar is on there but the code is : BEAUTY15 if this is helpful. Bare Minerals are also on this offer too.

Thanks for the heads up on the MAC set. Emma is a huge MAC fan and I'll see if there is anything in there that she would like and try and get it quickly.

I'm enjoying using up my candles although there are some that I'll be sad to see finished. I've added them to my challenge as I'd like to clear the whole lot and start again. I love the Lily Flame candles and I think that's what I'll buy once I'm through my stash. (I still love the look of the owl/candle set that VALM bought though.) I'm making an effort to use my essential oils as well as these are a quick and :money: way to scent a room (I have two electronic burners which makes things easier.)

    Good luck, everyone!

    Wil xx

Not that I'm trying to tempt you but I am soo impressed by the electric burner (not sure if I've posted this before, so sorry if I'm repeating myself). The wax tarts throw scent as soon as it is switched on and on the whole last longer - when using a tealight they last about 3-4 days but I'm getting a good week's worth of fragrance from the electric one. MrM has even suggested that I buy another for the living room.

Have seen the tart burner on its own on Yankee Direct I think however I may order one again from QVC to get a fresh stock of tarts.

Forgot my extremely MSE UU, the second half of my A!di Carino Light Brown hair colour. I always use this so it's a guaranteed WIBA (or IWBA, strictly speaking).

My natural colour is darkish mid brown so this just adds some lowlights rather than turning me light brown.
Re using the half a pack, for new arrivals, I have chin length, very fine hair that has become sparser with the years, it used to be really abundant, looking at old photos, but age has thinned it out. (I'm 56).
With the old style tube and bottle colourants, such as Nice n Easy and A!di Carino you can use just half the pack if you mix it in a plastic bowl and tightly reseal both bottle and tube. 100ml of mix is in each pack, 50ml each of colourant and developer. (Plus a 15ml sachet of lovely conditioner but I'd used that last time.)

25ml of each is more than enough for my hair. It's actually better as I always applied far too much previously, saturated my hair and had the colourant dripping everywhere.

When there is none to waste, there is no mess. Colour results are just as good, sparse greys at fringe, temples and scattered randomly are well covered.

So I will need one more colour purchase before the end of the year but at £2.39 that will hardly break the bank. The natural light brown colour seems to sell very well, so it will be a case of grab it when you see it, as it so often is in A!di.

  • Since my poor blush broke yesterday (still feeling sad :( ) I went ahead and bought a new one. So two INs and one UU:

    IN:
Color Riche "Le Sourcil" eyebrow pencil by L'Oreal: It's in deep brown and I bought it because I only have one brow product left (and that is almost gone)

"Le Blush" in Rosewood by L'Oreal: Bought this since my other one broke.

    UU:

Manhattan soft compact powder: WBA since it made my skin matte and it felt really soft :)

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Hello...I thought the time was due that I actually need to make the list, so tonight's job after work is to begin a list!!!!!
I have lurked on and off for the past few months and occasionally pop on with all the good intention of making a list and joining in properly, then I get side tracked and end up not doing. I have been good and have not brought some products that I would normally use in an effort to get rid of thing's I stopped using and now sit in a drawer... :o
This is going well and I have used up some items which is better.
I hope to finish my list before the weekend and report back. I'm sure there are some crucial items that I do need to re-purchase but I think a list will be a big help!
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

    Hola Beauty Queens

I come to you with a cautionary tale…

DH is currently afflicted with ManFlu :( apparently the supermarket own-brand cold and flu tablets I'd bought just weren't good enough  and for whatever reason, the pharmacy beside DS2's school wasn't open so I had to drive to the big Boots on the retail park. I had a quick look at the L'Oreal display and found a bronzer which I hope will work well with my ghostly skin. All the L'Oreal products were on 3 for 2 and I have been looking to try their foundations for ages (when I started this challenge I had 12 bottles of foundation stashed :o) so I swatched and picked up a True Match and an Infallible. Went to the pharmacy, was refused the cold and flu tabs as DH has high blood pressure :( so paid and left, only to find the woman in the car parked next to me had whacked my wing mirror with her door and smashed a big hole into it  She denied everything, despite the fact I SAW her, and the matter is now in the hands on my insurance company.

If that's not karma telling me off for buying things I don't need then I don't know what is!

Thank you for all the advice re: bronzers :) I'll try out the new one this week and report back my findings.

I think that you should blame OH being a prima donna on the SM own brand man-flu treatment, it is clearly his fault:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry about the car mirror though, I hate it that some people are so careless about the property of others:eek:
