Well, just had a look on the Michelin website and it does suggest your car model can accommodate 17" wheels with 225/50 R17 wheels. Get yourself some cheap, compatible steelies and put the tyres on these.

Also, don't forget to look at the bmwland.co.uk forums for advice.

Doesnt it need a wheel balancing done after new set of tyres put in?
Wheel balancing is standard practice when tyres are fitted.

I have just had a look at one of your other posts and seen what car you have just bought

so 17 inch rims will fit your new car and should be listed on the door pillar as a winter option, there is not an issue of 17,s fitting over the fronts discs and calipers as they are standard size on your car

so have a look on e bay and for alloys that fit the F30 in 17x7.5j inch rim, buy a set of them and fit you winter tyres to the new rims and run them on your car as your winters

I am just looking to see if the E90/91 17 inch alloys will fit your car as this will give you far more choice and they will come cheaper

The cheapest outlay option is steelies but having said that you don't tend to lose much on a set of alloys so could easily resell when done.

OP, you may need to ask on bmwland if E90 alloys fit the F30, in particular in terms of offset and PCD.

I think i am right in saying that they changed the wheel bolt size between the E90 and the F30

    E90 wheel bolt = 12mm

    F30 wheel bolt = 14mm

so the bigger wheel bolt for the F30 may not go through the hole in an E90 alloy

You may well be right. They did the same between the E87 and F20 1 series but allegedly there are owners that have managed to fit E87 alloys. Definitely worth checking though.
