Healing vibes for Mr LW and you LW, huge (((hugs))) for you Mrs MP and your MiL.
Sorry to hear DS2 is having a difficult time settling in to halls Dusty. From what I can remember you saying after he over-indulged a few months ago it's quite likely to be a totally understandable reaction to fresher's week. Things may calm down a bit when lectures start.
Nothing is drying here. The humidity and lack of wind means that washing that's been outside for 36 hours is still soggy. The place is festooned with undercrackers.
I've just had a horrible moment. Mrs Dog needs her painkillers administered twice a day at the moment, and after the (expensive) disaster with Devil Cat I'm now much more careful about them. However, she clearly managed to get upstairs last night before spitting one of them out and OH has just found it on the carpet - he is not a happy chap. Why Devil Cat didn't eat it is beyond me - he was a stray so he tends to eat first and ask questions later, but honestly, she's not the sort of dog I can do 'Open wide and let me see inside your mouth' with. Morning
Just checking in to say hi but not done anything other than bung the towels in the wash.
Getting a bit "meh" at the weather forecast. It keeps telling me it will come warm and bright, and it's not. I never know what to send DS in - he is the hottest boy in Yorkshire so don't want to overdress him IYSWIM and they get much less help with sweaters and so on now - not that he'd ask anyway, he'd just let himself get hotter and hotter
Couldn't find his school coat this morning, could either be in gramps' car or in school. He said he brought it out but I'm not sure.
Gah.
Might go stick beef in slow cooker...Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
WM finished so DS2's bedding on the line so he can stay the night. I think he has decided to leave the halls. He choose a London uni so he could travel from home if he wanted to. I know it seems early days but none of us ever thought he'd like it, he doesn't drink, like pubs or clubs. He is sporty, he'll find his way and he knows there are lots on his course travelling in from home.
DW on, toilet cleaned, will do kitchen sink in a minute. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

To be perfectly honest, I think if I'd posted about what was happening, I'd have totally lost it; I got by just by getting through an hour at a time and trying not to think about the "big picture" iyswim.
I think, though, we're all caught up here, which is quite amazing really all things considered; we did a large-ish shop in @ldi on Saturday so my cupboards are all stocked; and it's the farmers market this Sunday, and Mr LW is happy that he'll be able to go to that as usual.
He was fine at work yesterday; he's got alarms set in his phone so that he remembers to take his anti-flybotics (only another couple of days of those, thankfully) and the other meds are just morning and evening, so he takes them when I take mine.
The new kitchen is great; we're both having to get used to the new layout, but I'm sure that won't take long. I managed to use the gas oven to cook some lime biscuits and a Shepherd Spy; and of course we had a gas hob before, so that's fine. I like the new one; it has a flap-down lid for when it's not in use, and the controls are on the front above the oven, not on the top alongside the hob, so less of a crumb-trap than the old one.Honey_Bear wrote: »I've just had a horrible moment.
