Morning all. A bit excited here this morning as I shall be booking next year's holiday today, and a bit apprehensive as I have my first virtual presentation in my new job today and it's being recorded.

Right, I'm fed, dogs are fed. Next is washing up and then looking at the list for an hour or so before walking them.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning, thanks for the list Dusty and the challenges update Ionafan (yay!).

I do have one more little kitchen challenge to do and thats sort out my box of herbs and spices. Might do that later today.

Good luck with the presentation Jazee. Off for a shower and must put in a load of washing before I go to work. We seem to generate a lot of washing for just four of us. Thank goodness the weather is so good!

    morning all
thank you for the threads natty and dusty and for the challenges and stars iona.
hugs good wishes and positive vibes for all who need them.
pigpen hope you and your poorly little ones start feeling better soon.

a bit annoyed with the hospital where im going later today with mil. wed been for the scan after consultant said her lymph nodes felt swollen at the 6 week post op check. 2 weeks later had heard nothing so i rang the nurse dealing with us and said mil assumes she has the all clear because shes not heard anything, 15 mins later get a call back no a letter will be in the post consultant want to see her monday (today) to discuss the results even if they are clear. told mil this but did add glands dont swell for no reason so dont assume you are clear till dr says it. went round saturday with her shopping tea etc and she gave me a letter that had come (wasnt looking too happy) i thought theyd duplicated the today appt or changed the time after shed booked the taxi. but no it was a letter for an appt to have radiotherapy in the oncology unit this thursday. not really the nicest way to let an old lady know her cancer has spread is it:mad: they should have put that letter in her file for the consultant to give her AFTER the scan results discussion.

    challenge update
the conifers have left the garden - well the trunks have we worked until about 8pm on saturday and did the final log drop at 8.30. got another load of smaller chopped branches for the guy off freecycle and a huge pile of green stuff to offload on the council over the next couple of months but they are no more all stumps treated with killer sealed over with thick plastic and buried. weve even had 2 quotes for the new fence (getting another today and will then make the decision) the replacement fence will be an october challenge now;)

  • Hello. I'd like to join in this thread if I may.
Last week I decided I need to get into a routine so that I can feel I have achieved something at home and not be in a constant muddle. Last week was exhausting but its not so bad now.

Today I will attempt to clean as much of the whole house as poss, bar the kitchen.

So far I have stripped 3 beds (banged head on DS2's bunk bed!:o
Sprayed and bleached 2 bathrooms and d/s loo BEFORE school run! Am impressed with self ;), cleared away breakfast dishes and emptied dishwasher.

Will remake 3 beds, hoover and wet dust upstairs, finish bathrooms, hoover stairs and hoover & wetdust downstairs.

Need to pop to HBase for paint testers and to shops for few groceries.

Need a coffee just thinking of all that! Good luck to everyone else.

    Welcome newlyfrugalmum

Gosh, thinks that's everything I needed to remember!

I'm in this week, I've taken things easy, and definitely earned my stars doing very little, lol, but it's time to start tackling the house again. In fact, I shall go bung the sponge and dishcloth in some bleachy water now.

Just tackling paid stuff, and utilising my flylady strategy of short bursts to try up my concentration levels :) so bobbing off for a 5 min wander every so often when my mind stops working, lol.
