I'm loving the M & M card - the reason I like it is you can see the results very quickly in that once you get to 5000 you get the voucher whereas for Tesco you have to wait for the vouchers to be posted (can't remember if 2 or 3 times a year).

I have now got 4 of my 6 Xmas bonus weeks and have £15 in vouchers - I will be able to pay for my xmas shop using my bonus week tokens and my vouchers:beer:
As I don't actually need much from a supermarket at Xmas I expect I will just buy the drink we need (mainly fizzy pop but also some rum for DH) or stock up for the new year.

I am buying enough so that I don't have to leave the house and go near a shop from 24/12 until 5/1:T

Yes......Match & More is unbelievably good at the moment and use it with the Morrison's Christmas deal.......things don't get better than this :T

We must expect Morrison's to start making M & M carp in the near future like Nectar - they won't allow something as good as this to run forever......I know they are mean scrooges at heart

There are a lot of things which are way cheaper elsewhere than Morrison's for example, Morrison's seem to think Cheshire Cheese and Cornish Wafer's are made of solid gold and if you buy alcohol, then Morrison's is not too compelling either :( I suppose you could trust M & M to get the difference back but I don't......if I know something is way cheaper elsewhere I buy it elsewhere. That leaves £40 to £50 a week which will be spent in Mozza's. But on this amount I made 3000 points (£3.00) in one shop!!! Best week that by miles. I suppose it means I have been lazy or not tracked the competitors prices but the rip off Cheshire / Coffee / Cornish Wafers / Alcohol were all bought elsewhere so !!!!!!? :rotfl::o !!! Happy days :)

BTW if you are inviting me to Christmas dinner you'll have to let me bring a bottle :) I can't do Crimbo on fizzy pop alone :rotfl:!!

Go you Brogden. Your boss looking in!! Not a comforting thought. I just have to remember that the shops are closed for 1 day. No need to stock up for a seige.
I hope the envelopes ae still working for you.

Hi Verbatim.......nice words......YES!!!!!! The shops are closed for ONE day........did everybody hear that? They are closed for just ONE day!!!!!! :T This means we can buy a can of beans for our B on T for boxing day lunch actually on the 26th!!

And to the Sainsbug's 'racers'.....There is no need to adopt 'that' facial expression, treat all with coldness and aggression, have a fight at the till after running all of the other 4x4's off the little slip road because you are so desperate to to max out your credit cards in such a vulgar fashion......shame on you :( !!

I am not sufficiently religious to get into the original meaning of Christmas but if for just a few days each year we can drop the aggression and make each other happy then it must have some purpose :)!!

Yup. That's what I do. Still as EE says it means I won't go near the shops for weeks. And nothing will be wasted.

  • Hi Brogden,
Great to see your update :) but sorry to hear about the work pressures. 2 weeks away from work will be bliss :) I agree about the aggressive shoppers - it is supposed to be the season of goodwill!

Well, we are well over the 'hump' and cruising to the end of the working week (soz.......I know some people are contracted to work at weekends :(.)

After a day at my desk today, I am burning some Mozza's diesel and wearing some rubber tomorrow :)!! I have to do all of these these things and tick these boxes as the year end draws nearer or 'woe betide me.....:o !!!'

I have had a 'sartori.' I struggled for a moment to remember the spelling of this term which I learned from a spin-laden trainer some years ago....something which was mainly best forgotten but this word clung to me somehow. If anybody has not heard the term it is (quote) 'the state of sudden indescribable intuitive enlightenment.' It's an LBM innit? It's an idea anyway......not the realisation that I have debts which is what our LBM's mostly are :)!! I've got a few tee shirts on that one :cool:11

The 'idea' is to drop my private and personal 'blog' (that's a word document on the 'c' drive) and do it all on here! On my 'personal blog' I would record certain things and thoughts and humour myself. I might as well cut out the bad language and do it here! I will, of course still keep my extremely serious and private excel spreadsheet in case I need to present my standing to the Gnats Vest or whoever. Its not actually my idea......somebody on here whose posts I always read said they would be lost if the site went down and it made me think..........why do all of this on our own.....in 'splendid' isolation?

Obviously, anybody can pass me by but if its not too boring I'm going to give it a go. If all you guys know (as you do) the full extent of my unsecured indebtedness...I can't see the harm of sharing everything about my (hopeful) recovery. If I post something its an extra prompt for me so if anything is boring well.........think about Bono....if I'm as bad as that....I suppose I'll just have to live with it (or give up......):rotfl:!!

Its just a thought and maybe quite a few people are already doing this or something like.

I just can't read all the diaries, there's too many but my best and warmest wishes to everybody who is digging themselves out or just being pro-actively sensible.

Any suggestions for improvement or complaints on my 'open architecture' please contact Brogden Towers!! All feedback very highly valued :):):):):):):):o

    Brogden.

Do it Brogden! It avoids duplication and I was always taught to share ;) Am sure we will follow whatever you post, and isn't it the "boring" stuff that makes these pages so human?
