When in a hole stop digging pal, you're not doing yourself any favours taking everything so seriously. Lighten up a little, this is the internet, a sense of humour is optional but highly recommended.Right, so your suggestion was supposed to be amusing was it? Pity everybody else who saw it missed that too."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

Anyway, thanks for the subsequent links, I'm really looking for the views of people who actually own one but I'll add those to teh other reviews I've looked at.
Who rattled your cage? As it's unlikely that you're ever going to say anything that I want to read I'll just put you on Ignore now.
 Wow, what a tool.
I offer exactly what was asked for, and Mr. tool puts me on ignore. Obviously only wants opinions that match what he wants to hear.0

I wondered if anyone owns as their daily driver either the Toyota or the Subaru BRZ, and if so whether there are any plus or minus points they could share?
It's not really so hard to understand is it.
If you own one, speak up!
If you don't ... your opinions or alternative suggestions are not required and indeed not welcomed, so just move on elsewhere.
Obviously the OP doesn't want what he's asked about, he wants an M3, or a vRS, or a Prius, or something else. What could the OP possible know about what he wants? :undecided0

So please, enlighten us as to why the mention of a vRS should have us all rolling around on the floor in stitches?0

            I hopefully meet the criteria.
I've owned a GT86 since May 2013 and honestly cannot fault it, such good fun and it is impossible to not have a smile on your face when you drive it.
Yes the power is slightly on the low side, but at the end of the day, the handling, driving position and overall feel of the car make up for that.
It wasn't designed to be able to drag race a diesel Skoda from the lights, but when you're sideways going round a roundabout, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that you'll be the happier person.
As far a everyday driving is concerned, I drove to Newcastle and back from Manchester the other week and averaged 41mpg, so it is relatively economical considering it has a 200 bhp non turbo petrol engine.
The back seats are usable (well the one not behind me). You can tell they have spent more money on the technical aspects of the car as the interior does have a cheaper feel, but it's nothing to really get annoyed about.
PM me if you have any specific questions and I'll be more than happy to help!0

The engine.... It's the Subaru 2.0 flat 4 isn't it? With the turbo removed because there wasn't enough room?
Interestingly it also has a valve that opens to allow more engine noise into the cabin when you floor it (or so I was told by someone who worked at a Toyota dealership).
If that car had another 50bhp, it would be an awesome machine. But I think it would also kill a lot of people.
It's just like how salt has been taken out of all our food, leaving it flavourless and making us crave salty snacks. Cars these days have been built to stop the idiots amongst us killing themselves, leaving the enthusiasts to seek out older cars from a bygone era.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I'm not sure about there not being enough room. I know someone who has his rated at 360bhp with a turbo bolted on. 0-60 in 3.9 seconds!!!0

In the ethos of moneysaving - something not a million miles away from the GT86 is the old Celica - The VVTLi version had 190 bhp and in GT form came with a tasty bodykit and suspension tweaks over the standard 190/T-Sport. Of course it's not rear wheel drive, but handling was decent and performance figures aren't too dissimilar to the GT86. Although Clarkson found it great fun, I couldn't part with that much cash for something that was all show and not a lot of go.
OP are you sure you've not been seduced by the new Direct Line ad starring Harvey Keitel?! You know, the one where he drives a de-badged GT86 with a V8 roar dubbed over it.0
