Well - to be fair to all previous posters (and those still disappointed either by non-receipt or receipt of a 1000 piece "construct your own" pitcher kit) we've all had to really fight to get our promised goods out of those people. Anybody getting 2 - like we did - well that's just a nice bonus.

The ASA were of course correct - the key error RPM made was to tell everyone the pitcher was on its way, if that was not the intention. Error 2 was to not pick up quickly enough on the mistake to sort it out properly without a lot of hassle. If they had been more on the ball quickly and accepted what had happened, then no-one here would have been emailing GM executives.

Yeah i understand but if they were only originally only going to give away 1000(Probably with a 10% cushion for breakages) you gotta give them time to get to their manufactorers to make some more! Also prehaps if people didnt order 2, prehaps the people who ordered 1 might have got theirs quicker?

I think you may have misunderstood OwtForNowt. AFAIK no poster in this thread who has now got 2 actually "ordered" two. Like me, two just turned up, presumably because the agency got themselves in such a complete muddle over what they had and hadn't sent.

Fair enough but as they said the demand far outweighed the amount they were going to give out in the first place so i think they should be given time to sort things out! Complaining about things like this is probably going to stop this company and others from giving out freebes in the future?

Not being funny mate, but if you have followed this thread ( which you obviously have not done you will know that

A) I did not or try to order 2 and never stated I did
I tried politely emailing months ago to find out what had happened but was getting emails ignored, so I took it to the ASA.
C) By the time the ASA got back to me I had received my email telling me I had been succesfull and would be getting one which still didnt turn up three weeks after the date they promised.
D) After more ignored emails I got a reply from Jemma saying she would send one which I got intact.
E) Two days later the ASA phoned me to ask my permission to identify me to RPM to continue the investigation, I explained that I had actually got mine now but they still wanted to investigate as there had been other complaints.
F) Some time after another Pitcher got delivered.

If people had not complained then im sure they would not be honouring all these pitchers. There was also no comformity to the way they dealt with complaints, at first they were just sending them out to whoever emailed but then they said they everyone will have to wait to see if they have been successful, then they said there would be another freebie/offer available to unsuccessful applicants at the end of september which hasnt materialised either.

These companies have to learn one way or another that they have to follow rules even if it is a free giveaway

Fact is they messed up, and have to pay the price.

Im sorry if you still have not got yours but please furnish yourself with fact before laying into someone on here

I didn't myself have to "really fight" I sent a couple of shall we say terse? Emails and got a result, as far as "If those that requested two" hadn't, who are we to judge? Maybe they needed two? One for themselves one for a friend relative or Christmas present? It's not our busines all of our needs/wants are different. Some got them some didn't, there'll be another offer along and you'll miss it griping about this one.

Or perhaps demonstrate to them that they need to do their research before and not after the promotion?
As for curtailing the giving out of freebies, it's not free they have thousands and thousands of peoples demographic information as a result of this promotion, I'm banking that a majority will go without their promised freebie, only those that pursue will get one.

Exactly, how many people who found their way onto that site and filled out their details without the help of this site, then got the unsuccesful email, just accepted it as they probably didnt remember it saying a pitcher is on its way?.

1) I Didnt Order a Pitcher.
2) No I have Not read through 29 pages.
3) How do you know they would not have Sent out the Pitchers, Prehaps they were waiting on new stock.
4) Yes they messed up and are paying the price but making a formal complaint i thought was going to far as people were still receiving their Pitchers!
